Third gear would be crushing the speed limit around here.
How much will it hurt to do it in second?

it will work you just dont get as much data resolution due shorter time period.

Having finally gone and looked at the Wiki for that tool, I can see why some people are intimidated by it at first and ask for some hand holding. I'm sure it's simple once you've done it a couple of times, but that's a lot to digest the first time around.

So I got the utility to generate a new MAF Scale table for me (minimal changes) but I can't get it to copy & paste to the tune file.
I've got Romraider open as Debug level.
Any ideas?

I got mine to start working again by pulling the tune file off of OFT and renaming it in my comp to anything else and putting it back on. I think it just doesn't like "old" tunes for some people.

All my tunes have maf volts again now.
Hope this helps.

Pax

I'm B00D btw.

I was thinking about using my stock scale and paste it on the Stage 2, sinced the MAF voltage and the Engine g/s are different to see if it would change based off Mishimoto claiming no tune required. Here is a comparison. The temperature for my IAT was reading between 93-96F. My main goal is to get the LTFT to sit -2/2+. Otherwise I'll have to wait for Vishnu Performance to come up with the update for CAL ID ZAJ1D00D to get the MAF Volt and IAM readings.

Hi guys, I've just crossed this thread. Thanks to all for all the info!

I'm using a OFT Stage 2 tune with my EcuTek software.

Mods: OEM headers/gutted cat - Nameless FP/OP combo - Kakimoto Cat-back

And I've just buy an used Injen intake for really cheap. I know this is probably the worst intake on the market, but still I would love to scale the maf to make it work correcly with the OFT tune.

Just before I loose my time on scalling the MAF on the Injen, did anyone try it with success ?

right click on maf scale in utilility select the "Copy Romraider" option then it should work when you paste scale into romraider.

Is it important to have the MAF IAT compensation table zero'd out? Or is it okay to log when the temp is about 75F, as long as all my logs are around the same temp? Average temp around my area is 75F so I'm thinking it may be ideal?

If you're consistently logging with similar ambient temperatures then you can just leave it alone. You could just zero it out though without issue for this purpose and then return it after.

Okay cool. So I'm seeing 11.25 AFR at WOT from ~5K to redline, is it better to just do closed loop scaling and datalog that, then do open loop if it's still off?

I have finally gotten a grasp of how to use the @vgi tool and am currently working on scaling the closed loop portion of my MAF scale.

I've read through this entire thread and the one thing I'm not clear on is how to set the Filters and would appreciate some confirmation that I'm thinking about this correctly. Hoping @steve99 or another knowledgeable person will advise:

This is how I have the filters set up:
CL/OL Status Value = 2 (I'm using OFT for logging)

MAF Voltage Maximum = 3 (This is one I don't completely understand because I see some setting it to 5 but I believe the transition to OL happens above 3)

Engine Load Minimum = 0.05 (Not sure where this should be set)

IAT Max = 300 (Left this at the default, not sure what to do here)

AFR Maximum = 15 (again left at default, I believe I read a post that suggested it to be set to 16 but cannot find it now)

AFR Minimum = 13.7 (again left at default)

dv/dt Maximum = 0.7 ( I understand this is to remove data caused by quick changes in throttle but I'm not sure what a reasonable value is)

Cell Hit Minimum Count = 15 (Suggestions on appropriate numbers here?)

There is a wealth of information here and at times I really feel over my head but I have a desire to learn and am trying not to ask stupid questions but I've searched/read and can't get a feel for where these filters should be set to Scale the Closes Loop portion of the MAF.

Thanks for any help

best to leave the default values in tool

excapt maybe iat max set it to maybe 100f so it throws away high intake air temp data
