Good thing this one is supercharged. Mazda usually brings out a Mazdaspeed edition towards the end of a cars life cycle. It might happen.

okay so this makes it just just like the time they were working with cosworth when the nc came out. they dont really make mazdaspeeds that often. its not going to happen especially after how poorly the old msm sold. there have been rumors and concepts ever since the nc came out. i dont see how this will be any different

Yup, and Mazda does not have the coin to bankroll a special run like this right now...it's a shame though.

As poorly as the old MSM sold they still decided to make two gens of their Speed 3. I guess we'll just have to wait and see but I suspect Mazda will bring out an NC Speed version between now and the ND.

Name ONE Mazda turbo/FI concept that wasn't produced (official Mazda, not some aftermarket or speculation). They released the MS3, MS6, MS Miata, and there never was a turbo RX-8 concept.

I don't see how this would be game over for the ft86. All it would is encourage subaru/toyota to finally put out a turbo model.

Oh right, Mazda selling nearly 900000 Miatas including several different turbocharged versions in different countries was just a figment of my imagination...

Anyway, I'm still waiting for one single example of a turbo/SC Mazda concept that they didn't produce.....

since the production of the nc there has been a superlight and a cosworth collab but thats just off the top of my head. in fact this is still probably the cosworth collab seeing as it is supposed to have cos internals and the cos supercharger from fm

Aftermarket mod =/= Mazda concept car.

Sorry but it's actually a trick question.... there hasn't been a Mazda/Mazdaspeed concept that hasn't been produced, at least not in the past 10 years or so

Here is what you all need to know: I would buy one if Mazda built it for the US. Today.

Although they've been having problems selling late year models where I come from, Mazda will have made a mistake by not making this work especially if the economy does well in the foreseeable future.

I dont think they would have problems selling these at all. S2000's went for over $50,000 in Canada so why couldnt this sell for under $40,000? Would this model be remembered by car historians? I think it would but more importantly Mazda should think it needs to be.

asking if a mazdaspeed miata would be remembered means that it was already forgotten.

I have to say Im not a Mazda fan with the exception of them winning the 24hours of Lemans in the early nineties with a Wankel engine. However being an automobile enthusiast, I do respect their recent ad at one time claiming along the lines that they are the most tracked brand in America. Honestly I enjoyed watching the Miata series as well as the Mazdaspeed6 going nose to nose vs the TSX a few years back. I can recall it was pretty close battle. Damn I miss premium cable.

If you're talking about the Speed Challenge...Those were actually Mazda 6's running worked NA 2.3's that went up against the TSX's.
