Will buy even if 50k on road for gts

Hey guys

Is there anyone in the same mindset as me at the moment.

If the price comes in at 50k on road for the gts, will you still buy it.

Seems most people on here will pull out.

If only ever owned 1 car for the last 12 years. Guess I get attached to something and can't change my mind. I'm pretty much set on the 86. Even if something goes wrong, money wise, I will keep my celica for another year or so then buy the 86. But looking more likely I will buy it no matter what.

Just had my heart set on it for years. Who is in the same sort of pain im in.

Anyone else has their heart set on the 86, for better or worse ?

Dude... I understand you are passionate about the 86 as well all are but why dont you buy it for under $40,000 like the rest of us and donate $10,000 to a children's fund instead.

Yup i have had my heart set on this car for seems like forever(at least 4 years)...

but one of the many reasons i was set on it is cause they promised(said) affordable! 50k above 40k isn't affordable. (yes the base will below 40k, but the demoed cars had all the cool features you could want)

i'm with @Nardi330 on this one but at the same time, i have the same mind set as @st162celica. I tested the waters on how far I can limit myself, so below 40k drive away for GTS auto would be a steal, if equal to 40k Drive Away is acceptable limit is 45k any higher will have to wait to next year or resort to something else.

so yeah...Tomorrow...i won't get to see the price straight away i'll be in a meeting from 10am (dammit!)

Exactly, "affordable".

Neilus..... Donate 10k to charity would be better than giving it to greedy Toyota aus.

That's right! You never know though, with what's happening financially over seas with countries going broke, people loosing their jobs, may be it would be wise to sell as many cars as you can be for the global title wave comes around again.

to tag people you either use the blue speaker icon which auto inputs
Code:
[ mention ] type person's name here[ /mention ]
or you can type it just get ride of the space i added in there.

so if i were to tag you it'll be like this

Code:
 [ mention ]70NYD[ /mention ]

Well the hard point is they have already set the allocated stocked for the next 2-3 years . So toy aus might try and make the most of it by having a higher price. ( and loose their customers loyal to the Toyota brand ) or maybe not.

If they want this model in Australia as a affordable sports car you will have alot of change for goodies.

I was assured of this and nothing's changed yet, 11hrs or less we will know.

I have ears on the ground in Canberra atm and the millisecond the embargo finishes I/we will know.

Now stop thinking and head to bed.

Just curious about your market down there. Do you also deal with dealers who markup or have "market adjustment" pricing? So that if Toyota does come out with a reasonable MSRP, you end up getting hosed by the dealers?

Dealer markup is illegal in Australia.

The official drive away price is the maximum they can charge.

Embargo will probably end at 10am tomorrow....

I'm not too concerned. However i have had enough thinking about this for months. It will happen when it happens. Off to sleep now.
