Shots fired. The lightweight damper made LESS power. |

It was fine to make a stand alone post, but putting this here is just poor form. NST is selling a product that they are proud of and clearly many people enjoy. The products value is clearly debatable, but this post isn't debating, or helpful. It's insulting and serves no other purpose. |

The purpose of the new NST idler/tensioner pulleys is not HP/TQ related, the new pulleys are packed with some high rpm bearings, the design is serviceable (see the snap rings above?) which is a huge plus for future bearing service, and they look a lot better than OEM. There is no way to design an idler/tensioner pulley to yield extra power. When used in conjunction with the NST crank, alternator, and water pump pulleys, a nice gain in HP and TQ is visible... http://nonstoptuningusa.com/2014/10/...-dyno-testing/ |

As I have stated before, and will continue to do so if necessary, the full set of pulleys will yield a nice gain in power, torque, and response when the lightweight crank, alternator, and water pump pulley are used in conjunction with the idlers/tensioner kit.
This principal has been proven time and again on Honda, Nissan, Toyota, etc. engines and has been documented on the NST website and other forums. Relative to the FRS and BRZ... http://nonstoptuningusa.com/2014/10/...-dyno-testing/ Testing with other Nissan, Scion, etc... http://nonstoptuningusa.com/2015/06/...ee-horsepower/ Best of luck with all your projects everyone! |

This is exactly where that should be posted. This is a tech thread not a vendor for sale thread (well it isn't supposed to be but the reality is debatable). Regardless of how proud they are or how much people enjoy it if there is evidence contrary to their claims it should be brought forward here.

Could you provide the weight different between NST and OEM Idlers & Tensioner pulley individually? Thanks. |

Quick Review
Some pictures from my install... Also measured the weight of each pulley. OEM Crank Damper = 2227g NST Crank Pulley = 495g OEM Alternator Pulley = 190g NST Alternator Pulley = 80g OEM Water Pump Pulley = 457g NST Water Pump Pulley = 246g Install went smooth, and was really easy. Took about 30 minutes to do... but I'll probably check and re-torque each nut/bolt after a few hundred km. I tried my best to pay attention to how the car felt prior to install, and my butt dyno tells me that the car feels like it revs faster/accelerates faster. So far so good, only time will tell what kind of long term effect these LW pulleys will have. For those of you installing these pulleys in the coming weeks, please note: AS SEEN IN THE PHOTOS from our website, the snap rings in these pulleys should face OUT. Just for clarification, there is a correct and incorrect way to install these pulleys. Thanks all! |

So, its almost been 2 weeks and wanted to give an update.
Pulleys are great so far. Car seems like it would wind up faster at the autocross event this past weekend. However, is it normal for the anodize to wear from the belt ribs? Are the grooves cut into the pulley cut with a specific tolerance? |
