Lol, that would be my car. I picked it up from Universal Toyota Friday evening. From the cars in the grid, that looks like the first heat and I was definitely on course working with decibel-o-meter.

Oh, yeah it was first heat. People were walking by and snapping photos like crazy. Thank you so much for letting me get a ride in it. You handled that course like a champ.

Subbin' for dealer experiences and to bum rides off of people.
An FR-S/BRZ is definitely in my future, but probably not for a while.@Satown86 I heard nothing but praise for your car from people who got rides at Retama. Congrats! |

It was definitely a fan favorite and there is in car video of one of my runs here:
Everyone who got a ride was definitely pleased when they got out of it, especially the pilot P.S. I'm planning to be at the Coffee and Rides event this Saturday at the Panera bread at 1604/Blanco around 8am if you want to come out and drool at my baby and all the rest of the sick rides that show up. Any signs of the BRZ's showing up yet?
Alamo Toyota has a charcoal FRS but they marked it up an extra $4k. |

Oh nice. Is that at north park? I haven't had the best of luck with them in the past so I was thinking about trying gillman. I'm not on any list so the scion might be the best bet.

BRZ On Order
Been catching the news on here whenever I can but first post finally. Started out at #5 on the list at North Park for BRZ but then changed color twice and got bumped to #7. Every time I saw a new pic, I would go back and change the color. Finally settled on WRB and who knows when that will come in, very likely in the Fall. Will be hitting up coffee and cars until then to see all of yours but just don't make fun of the car that I show up in!!

The Alamo scion website shows the asphalt fr-s at $25459. You say they marked it up $4k? Wtf?!?
That's crazy! |

According to Timothy Cain @ http://www.goodcarbadcar.net
U.S. May Sales of Subaru BRZ outsold Scion FR-S: 271-86. Of course...it wasn't a "full month" of sales and supposedly June 1st is the "official" debut date. Will be interesting to look at the June stats (and beyond) to see how many of each model are coming over during this initial "allocation" period which supposedly runs to November. I think I saw that there are over 900 Scion shops at approx. 1200 Toyota dealers in the U.S. Probably around 600 Subaru dealers. If each Toyobaru dealer got one 86 car per month...that's approx. 1500 vehicles/mo. Annually, that's a 18,000 per year U.S. production rate. I think Subaru initially estimated annual BRZ sales @ 6000 and I think Toyota FRS was around 10K for U.S. sales. And then we heard pre-order sales in Japan were like what? 4-7 times greater than anticipated? So, they were going to up the annual combined factory production rate to around 100,000 a year? I suspect they are focusing initial production on their domestic market at this point. I doubt they can build 8.3K of these a month as yet to reach that 100K goal but, I bet we have a delivery surge later on this Summer as they begin to get their logistics challenges addressed. My dealer told me they could easily sell 150 BRZs. It's no wonder we see some of the sorry @$$ examples of the dealer mark-ups at the moment. People need to be patient...and, you lucky dogs that have your BRZs and FRSs...you are envied for sure!

Yep they lying...they will get at least 2 to 3 per month. FR-S will not be as rare as the BRZ.
Screw it...i am solidly in the BRZ limited camp. Just trying to figure out where to place an order. I don't mind if I don't get it till Xmas. But the longer I wait, i might end up with a 2014 model. Hopefully the VIP discounts will kick in, once production really ramps up... |
