I know lol, I've probably read every thread out there about these damn crickets. I've tried experimenting with different fuel stations and brands, ethanol free and adding TC-W3 2 stroke oil. Nothing seems to make much of a difference other than how hot the weather is. I've pretty much just settled into the fact that the crickets are here to stay.

Maybe if I'm going to "show off" my car I'll get it replaced again though for a few moments of silence

I can report my 2016 has the cricket sound. Started around 1200 miles. I am using Shell 93. Going to experiment and go with Sunoco next fill up.

I know this issue with the twins is not fixable but the crickets on my brz series blue are getting worse, they are even louder now. I will be going to the stealership for an oil change next weekend, should i call that out to them?

I have been using shells 93 octane gas and the cricket got louder eversince. Like @Tcoat mentions, temperature and type of gas really does effect the sound. @100 degrees F it sounds like a herd of crickets mating nonstop but when it gets down to 70 degrees or lower, it seems like the crickets died out. The way that you drive also effect it. Lower revs = less crickets compared to higher revs. The best gas I used so far with little crickets was Speedway 93 octane.

Well its like an added bonus, lol. Getting a new car and a whole family of crickets

I realized I had crickets, when I was waiting in line at the Chick-fil-A drive thru one morning. They were echoing off the wall when I pulled up to pay. I hadn't noticed them until then.

Drive it as empty as you can - well into the illuminated fuel light. Then fill it with E0. Tell us what happens.

Wow, unless there are some stations not listed, it looks like Northern New Jersey is hosed.

I've consistently had the same results but I gave up because the one place I knew about was a little out of my way. Looking at that map again, I just found another really close to my work.

Meh. I'm also long over worrying about it. It's just part of the charm. It's pretty amusing when a bunch of us get together and sing like a chorus.

Yeah I agree with you @Ultramaroon... Crickets or no crickets, its part of what makes these cars unique.

Also, the ethanol free gas here, there's 1 station close to me but they charge $0.40 more per gallon plus the difference between octane grades.

Found a high volume station that is E0 and haven't had any sings in weeks. Last night sitting in a drive though and I have the loudest chirping ever. Think to my self "ah shit that isn't cool". Pull forward they are gone. Back up they are back. Pull forward gone. Go back back. Shut car off they are still there.
Yelp, was hearing real crickets and now some poor teenager at Tim Hortons thinks a crazy guy drives a nice car.

Mine is a 2014, did it (chirping) twice, ran it until I had .3/13.2 Gallons according to how much I pumped on receipt and it went away. Use only premium for sures now. It's embarrassing parking next to a hottie with a chirp.

Funny my 90 pickup develops a chirp related sound as well when run it with the cheapest gas. Switched to cheapo brand but highest grade, went away.
