Right just re read that brochure.
Limited Slip Differental (LSD) (available on all models excl Standard Grade AT) Too me that states you dont get LSD unless you ask for it. God i hope Toy Aus hasn't jerked us around like the last version of 86. So let me get this right, anyone who has pre ordered and paid deposits can ask a question of the car but the dealer cant or wont answer. These cars are in the country and a simple question of "does it have LSD standard" cant be answered, well that's proper rude. Anyways back to work. |

unfortunately LSD isn't visible. i'd prefer to have them on the car from factory as i don't want to mess around with this.
however i personally think it is likely to be standard on GT manual and all GTS. this is actually what's on the JDM spec. i don't recall LSD is optional extra on manual at least in any market. |

to be fair, dealers can only answer what they know. i'm not convinced dealers are being rude and withholding info. EDIT: going by the TMCA website: Toyota 86 features:

I've already answered the LSD question for one of my pre-order clients - the answer is:
There is no spot to add LSD as an option on the GTS order screen in stock control when the order is placed for the car from TMCA (Toyota Motor Corporation Australia Limited) so as far as we can tell it is standard on the GTS Manuals - it may also be standard on all manuals but is not available on the GT Auto as per our current documentation. Hope that helps. |

not necessarily, don't have it in front of me but I think it specifies only the manuals have it standard.

The documentation said that LSD is available on all models except standard grade with AT. From that one would say a GT AT will not have lsd standard.

Then why wouldnt it say LSD standard on all models except GT Auto?
Available is pre tense, you dont have it yet, but it can be done. Well to me anyway, but as Newft86 says GTS no option to add lsd, so this angle suggests that LSD available means standard Either way we will know soon enough. Has anyone else set their phone alarms for 9.55am |

im sure lsd is standard on all models except for mayb the low spec auto as expected. Otherwise it would be the dumbest thing ever. This car was built and marketed for its handling and rwd/drifting capabilities. To not come standard with a LSD would be retarded.

What I'm wondering (since I decided to at least wait for the price of a BRZ before getting an STi) is how on earth are Subaru going to carry on NOT having a price on the BRZ once Toyota announce it on Monday!?

they will probably announce it later next week. Toyota won't start delivery for another week or 2 at least.

A sales rep I spoke to seemed to believe he'd receive stock by the 8th and ready to drive away on the Tuesday after the long weekend.
