I don't really like harnesses. The straps and hardware for the ones I've seen look like they could break under strain. My dogs go in the back seat if they go in a car, and that's only for short rides. Anything further than a few miles is in a crate in the mini van. It's actually the whole reason we bought a minivan.

I would keep the dogs in the back seat for their safety. God forbid you get in an accident, the airbags are not intended for Canines, and might do more harm than good even with a harness on them.

That being said, my Dog can ride in the Tundra or the Sienna. My FR-S is for people only

I bought an old truck for the dogs, planning ahead for my FR-S. Those little hairs are impossible to vacuum out. It's not just the seats, but the back of the front seats and the ceiling. Then they scratch doors, dash, and other parts when they climb in and out. One gets carsick as well.

In the truck, I debate about the passenger airbag, better for the dogs to have it on or off?

i dont think the seat fabric are dog friendly, let alone the space. Still, nothing a big towel can fix.

Off. Airbags are designed for human bodies in a normal, belted seating position.

Here's a pic of Homer from a hike we did. I have more and better shots but the slides need to be scanned first. This pic gives you a good idea of what he looked like. He had many different looks. He was was a work of art and the Greatest. RIP Homer!

I wish they'd hurry and get them produced and tested!! The Clazzio covers are the BEST and makes seats look factory leather, without the hassle of actually getting them re-upholstered.
When you find out when the Clazzio USA has the seat covers ready, please inform this forum. They look like they will be good seat covers.

We did our baseline dynos last night. We will be working on exhaust and intake first. I need to buy a spare head to I can start flowtesting head, manifold etc and see what there is to see.

Cool, I will most likely be working with jotech when a tuning solution is found, will post dynos before and after mods, then both stock and modded with a tune I want to hit the 210 - 220 mark running na

And what did your dyno look like

I dont want to but if I have to then yes. My two German Shorthairs ride great in the car but their hairs are like needles in fabric :P I mean they burrow DEEP into the fabric. The last thing that I want to do is spend countless hours with tweezers getting their hair out of a car that has no room to manuever in :P

I use a seat cover & hammock for when I transport my husky/GSD mix. Keeps the hair from embedding themselves into the seat, keeps her claws from scratching the center console, and keeps drool off the interior.

Biggest problem I have with her though in cars is travel anxiety/nausea. In the '99 Dakota I used to have, she had some slight anxiety, but she never had the bad panting/shaking she gets when she's in the FR-S (probably due to how low it sits and the growling of the engine). Thankfully trips with her are no more than 5-8 minutes one way to the dog park and 15-20 if she goes to K9 Nose Work class or the vet.
