Love the commercial, that's exactly what I'm going to do with the car, well except for the part where the girlfriend is pissed for waiting on the guy. Lol! Thanks for the video!!!!! XD

Cool video and all...but do they ever air these on national tv? Kinda annoying, cuz this isnt really a good marketing strategy to market solely through youtube, where only enthusiasts will SEARCH PURPOSELY for "BRZ"... Big dummies. Scion does the same shit too...

Cool wordless commercial, very cinematic, European setting - must be a Euro commercial...

Viral/social marketing is the best way to market right now. It would be more dissapointing/bad timing to have commercials air before the cars become widely available. Potential shipping delays would worsen the effect. Scion's commercial with Gushi stunt driving along a California mountainside has been prepped for months and will air at the optimal time. Not sure what Subaru has planned but their US marketing is among the best in the industry. Scion plans to sell something like 5x more FR-Ss than BRZs and marketing should reflect that accordingly.

YES. Off topic, but this is why commercials like this one drive me crazy - youtube.com/watch?v=YdRLYqP7ZoM. Can't the guy look around in his own f'n fridge?!?! (Notice how comments were disabled on that one - most were along those lines.)

Sorry - back to the BRZ. Great commercial! I'm still a fan of silver.

Is it just me, or did they cut out and skip through all the good bits? Accelerating to highway speeds then abruptly changing scenes, frame-skipping the hairpin towards the end so we don't even get to see how he would corner, that's brutal.

Oh please... Lets get real, we all know that woman would have her face buried in her cell phone yapping away and randomly texting up a storm. She wouldn't even notice that the guy wasn't there. TRUTH!

The dog, on the other hand, is headed up those steps to go chew on the guitar.

Commercial is waaaay too long and too mundane for such a car. I can understand it if it were a family car commercial, then the pacing makes sense but for a sports car? Nein.

What is more pure than leaving all the bullshit behind, and doing something for yourself? Of course, that is how I view the commercial.

What does "purist" mean to you? I am not asking in the spirit of just being critical for criticality's sake. I would like to understand your worldview. The reason I ask is because Subaru is aiming for a more affluent, and older, market. That commercial spoke directly to the intended market they want. So I am curious as to how you see a purist, vs. how Subaru sees the same archetype.

Remember, btw, the two gentlemen who got early access to the BRZs for the day that Subaru filmed? Notice their age? They were picked for a reason... They were the type of guys Subaru saw buying the car.

We can debate on their strategy regarding the choice of their intended demographic, but the commercial was on point.

I feel like that was a commercial targeted to a 60yo driving a Jaguar XK. The Scion commercial is much better targeted...which proves what we've known all along. Toyota has a much better marketing division than Subaru and Honda for that matter but might not necessarily have the better car.

Interesting departure from Subaru's normal fare, this ad portrays the allure that this is a very enjoyable car for you to get out there and drive, with only you, your thoughts, the car, and the open road.

Most Subaru ads emphasizes a social aspect and the fact your Subaru takes you to the adventures. Their cars are usually seen as the enablers, not the focus, of enjoyment.

I didn't find the ad groundbreaking or clever, but noteworthy in that it's atypical for Subaru.
