Seat belt guide install
I noticed that our BRZ seat belt anchor sucks.
Looking around there seems to some cars that have a seat belt guide that attaches to the headrest poles. For example the Fiat Spider has this: http://compare.ebay.com/like/3103705..._lwgsi=y&cbt=y Would that install on our seat headrest? Or maybe there is a universal version? Dodge challenger has them too. |

Indeed it is... Would love to see if it would indeed fit, or hopefully some creative 3rd party will come up with something like this soon.

After my recent test drive I was thinking of a way to stop the belt from rubbing on my neck to. My original thought was to use a seat belt extender to move the point where the shoulder belt and waist belt come together. It would stop the rubbing and also that would allow the seat to be moved without needing to disengage the belt from anything.
This would look a lot better though. Hmmm |

I wonder if the headrest posts are standardized as far as the distance of the posts...

I noticed this guys are in Atlanta. I've sent them an email to see if I could "stop by" their location and have them try to fit one to see if it would work. I'll let you know if I get a reply.

I'm looking for a way to put in proper racing harnesses (and 1 piece racing seats)… if anyone has any ideas, I'm all ears.

Probably start with a 4 point bar, but yes. Will forgo any attempt to put in a harness bar. Chris Musante built me an FIA compliant cage for this car years ago. 2.75". Thing was massive.
I wonder what he can do with a BRZ... |

Not sure what you are asking.. you seem to understand that a roll bar (or cage) would be required. Seat is easy, either make a custom mount (or if a cage, build a seat mount into the cage structure) or wait for a seat mount adapter from Sparco, PCI, etc..

That's probably the route that I'll take. Then buy/build the bar/cage around that setup. Got time, though. Trying to decide how far to take this as a track machine.

Will do. I'll try to get something together. In the meantime you can watch this. That video was shot over 2 practice runs and a final competitive run -- when it was wet. It wasn't a true multi camera shoot. You can see the route of that section of that special stage here. That video starts roughly before where the 3rd white dot is along that route. The car is a Williams prepped Renault Clio. Front wheel drive.

Glad I'm not the only one who thought the seat-belt cutting into my neck was an annoyance. Interested to see how that works, but honestly I think I'll get used to it...over time.
I used to have Takata harness pads on my first WRX and those felt awesome! So much better than those generic "branded" seat belt pads. But the Takatas are EXPENSIVE (I acquired them from a friend who didn't need them), and not worht the money IMO, plus I'm sure they're hard to find. But if money isn't too much of an object, those would make a great alternative. Oh yeah, and if you don't mind the JDM-ricer green they come in too, ha ha ha... |

Response from the eBay seller in regards to the seat belt guide, the holes are 160mm apart, anyone have time to measure?
Next question would be if the post "notches" match with ours? Only way would be compare side to side or test it out. |
