Thanks once again @CSG Mike , All back to normal.

Also question for anyone... I'm getting readings of approximately -11 to 5.5 lbs of boost (measured on my Torque Pro).. does this seem low to you? the 5.5 was WOT... I'm on the CARB tune. And that tune brings it up to 7 lbs doesn't it?

I'm seeing a max of 5.4ish on torque as well, custom tune.
Someone mentioned the stock MAP can't read higher.

In other news, made a turn and hit the gas and my car starting sputtering and barely driving and my AFRs were going crazy and the car pretty much turned itself off when I stopped.
I pretty much shit my pants... But the hose going to the TB somehow came off. I was relieved to say the least.

Your factory MAP sensor can read 20 psi absolute.

Boost is going to be what your MAP sensor is reading minus ambient. Sea level is about 14.7 psi, or 1 bar.

20 - 14.7 ~~ 5.5 psi.

You'll notice your 5.5 psi occurs quite a bit before redline, and as you know, your boost continues to climb as you rev higher. The boost is there; you just don't have the equipment to read it.

If you go somewhere where ambient pressure is lower, you will see a higher boost reading.

*dont* change your MAP sensor; you'll need a custom tune if you do so.

When you get to a safe area, take the hose off, and wipe it with a *clean* paper towel. If there's any oil at all, I recommend you get a set of catch cans for your car.

Make sure you clean the pipe and connecting hose with soap and water first to get the oil off before you put it back on, or it may pop back off from the oil.

I was getting this periodically, turns out the MAF sensor is the most probable cause. As Mike already mentioned - clean it, and make sure the sensor is exactly vertical (for this you can slightly rotate the tube, where it's inserted). Check that the MAF sensor O-ring seals properly - it must not be damaged or crumpled. My CEL issues were fixed for a while after I slightly rotated the tube and replaced the O-ring.

Unfortunately, the P0172 came up on mine again on the weekend, and the LTFT level is again too low. I expect another CEL today or tomorrow, as it appears when LTFT reaches about -30.

While we are on this subject, does anybody know the part number for the MAF sensor O-ring? My Subaru dealer couldn't find it - said, it only comes with the sensor itself.

I already have the PCV side can.
Do you recommend the crank case can as well?
Everything is clean. I'm assuming it just wiggled itself lose.

I tried to find it, and even went to the dealer to see if their guys can find the part number, with no success.

The tech told me, it must not have an O-ring and I said no, it has an O-ring... I just came to the conclusion Subaru only sells the whole MAF "assembly" which comes with the O-ring

Still looking for a place to order 10 of those rings...

Same here.
Just called Scion/Toyota - they don't know it either.
Only have the whole sensor assembly on their part list.
I've found one for Corolla, but not sure if it will fit.

@CSG Mike: You guys should have these O-rings available. Is there a part number?

I tried to find random ones at home depot but they're too thick...
Mike offered to send me an O-ring, which was very nice, but I want to buy a bunch of them haha... I like having extra parts laying around the garage.

MAF O-Rings? We might have them.

You shouldn't have to clean your MAF very often. Make sure your PCV valve and MAF are oriented properly. The MAF should not be tilted to one side or the other. Also make sure there are no aftermarket electronics in your engine bay that could alter with the MAF signal.

Well, I wouldn't touch the MAF if I hadn't got the P0172 error. Last time fiddling with the MAF seemed to fix the issue, but now it's back. I'm still using the stock O-ring, and it seems to be a bit stretched. Last time I tried to use the one which came with the kit, but it didn't help, and when I removed it I found it's slightly damaged - not sure if it's a defect, or it was somehow damaged during the installation.

Anyway, I'd like to put a new O-ring for a proper seal - hope this will fix the P0172.

Anything blowing oil into the intake tract is from the crankcase side.

If the tube is clamped down properly, it cannot wiggle itself loose; the throttle body has a small lip on the upper portion to assist in keeping the tube on.

I don't know the part numbers.... I just (personally) have spares.
