I've never been a fan of turn-based games (video or otherwise), which is probably why I couldn't get into it.

I did realize a couple of sessions ago that Just Cause 2 with its emphasis on randomly blowing up things and creating "Chaos" to advance the story basically means its a terrorist simulator.

Of course, I suppose most games are that way if you really think about it.

Dark Souls 2 is probably my most played PC game.
I have AC but really need to get a wheel. Tried it with a controller and it didn't go well.

DS2 was my most played PC game next to DS1 and EVE Online. I sunk about 1600 hours into EVE Online over 4 years. Right now Destiny has me at 800 hours after only 8 months.

Ah yes! Another of my top ten. Downloaded it from a Warez site took almost a week in tiny little pieces.

I have clocked 35 hours of playing Witcher 3. I can't see why this game has rated such high reviews. http://www.metacritic.com/game/pc/th...er-3-wild-hunt
The good:
Big world to explore
Much denser world than Skyrim

The bad:
Inane fighting mechanics
Hand holding design (i can't but help think this is a carry over from consoles). That is, witcher sense leaves no doubt as to where/what you should be doing.
Inter-actable items are highlighted but when you get close enough it tells you which button to press to activate. It's the same fucking button every time!! I mapped the buttons, I know which one to press!!
Many many cut scenes.

I am getting close to un-installing and going back to Skyrim.

I think a lot of your complaints do come from it being made for consoles.

Personally, I am loving it. I am not sure it deserves the "dethrones Skyrim as best open world RPG of all time" but it is really really good. It is very similar to Elder Scrolls games which is great for me because I love those games. I prefer combat a bit more in the Witcher only because it seems more challenging. We'll see if I still think that in 100 hours.

As a side note, hats off again to Bethesda considering that people are comparing brand new games so much to Skyrim, which is almost 4 years old. How many other games can boast that?

Haven't played 3 yet, but the combat mechanics in 1 and 2 were really odd, particularly in the final boss sequences where the mechanics had nothing to do with the rest of the games. 2's last boss had a whole Dragon's Lair feel to it, very odd.

I am looking forward to playing it but it will probably be a 2016 game for me. Too cheap to pay full price!
