Guess I am in the minority, but I would rather have the plastic drilled than go with the offset bracket. I totally understand that PERRIN is working with what the car has got, but it's just too much of an offset from the factory. That license plate location on the tow hook ruins the look of the car.
But... that is just one guy's opinion, and I hope PERRIN sells as many brackets they can to the folks that want them.

You can do like some..just run no plate, and expect "fix it" tickets every now and then. Actually sometimes it works in your favor...
- Get caught speeding - Officer: well I am gonna cut you a break, I'm just writing you up for no front plate. Keep it cool out there - Yes sir. You can get one of these tow hook brackets for getting your tickets signed off. |

lol I'm not mad. I'm actually looking forward to this. I loved that look. I'll miss my Evo 8 but I feel it's time to finally just let it go.
![]() Any chance of getting these anytime soon? Put me down for 2. One for my buddy and I. Actually, I should probably ask this first. This would fit the FR-S as well right? |

One thing I am curious about with PERRIN's bracket is if there is any nominal disruption of RADAR wave or LiDAR beams since it looks like the bracket has the plate canted off at an angle. That means the cops do not get their usual zero degrees of obliquity that they are so used to. I would reconsider PERRIN's solution if it redirected enough energy away from the offending cop's gun, effectively giving me a bit of a buffer zone. and then reality sets in.....

We spent years developing the perfect angle that reflects all laser, radar, and lidar beam to the car next to you. Also this angle actually slows down the signal making speed on the Cops guns 10.3MHP slower.
JK In reality the angle ends up being a good blend of "Forward Facing" vs. looking good. This is important as you can get in trouble for it not facing forward.

Hey PERRIN_Jeff, just wondering if there is anyway to angle the plate holder so that when you look at the front of the car from the right, it doesn't cover the strip of light at the lower end of the bumper? Looking at some of your pictures it looks like it covers that light. I really want to get this but that's the only thing holding me back! But at least looking at the front from the centre it looks like it doesn't block that light.

Jeff is on the dyno right now, but I took a few pics showing how it looks. It's hard to tell in this pic, but there are 3 LEDs, and they are on the outside of the housings. It covers a small part of the clear plastic, but it isn't where the 3 LEDs are.
![]() ![]() PS I got to drive it in the parking lot, WOAH! |

Not to rain on the parade of the guys at Perrin. But the GrimmSpeed is available today, in fact mine is in the mail. I also talked to the guys at Rho-Plate and they have something in the works that should be out 'soon.'

Hey Folks,
Sorry for the delay in delivery / availability. We of course want to move at the speed of light for this car, but at the same time not willing to sacrifice quality, kit completeness, etc. just to do so. A small batch was shipped to clients (from this site) and at least one has published up his praise for the part. The rest are in production here in the USA and will be available just as soon as possible. At the same time, I understand the "GOT TO HAVE RIGHT NOW" feeling and if you have to choose a competing brand, hey I will have to respect it as mine aren't in boxes today to ship to you. The bracket doesn't cover any of the LED's as shown above, is EXTREMELY sturdy, contours to the bumper skin, powercoated (vs anodized), lighter weight, etc. But it doesn't allow as much adjustment. While some may want to wiggle the plate side to side, we chose to put it in a really excellent spot, not cover any future air flow for an intercooler, construct it from very high quality materials and...I think you get the idea. Thanks to those that are willing to wait for the PERRIN product! Thanks again peeps and enjoy your holiday weekend! |

Maybe it's me, but I'm going to go with the Perrin Relocator when it comes out. I have no experience with the Grimmspeed one or the Perrin one.
I am afraid that bolting the Grimmspeed one all the way to the left gives it a kind of seesaw effect. What I am thinking will happen is that at speed, the license plate will flap against the bumper. I am not sure if this will happen, but that is my own personal fear of what will happen. However, the pictures make me want the Perrin one more. ![]() The Perrin one seems like it's more rigid and has more support. It also seems like it would be less prone to flap at speed. Thus, I'll wait for the Perrin relocator to come out. Hopefully you guys get it out soon!
