There's already stock springs that help push you back to neutral as well as mainly 3rd and 5th gears I believe. But pretty much it makes it smoother/quicker shifting compared to the already notchy stock shifting which gets multipled by the trd quick shifter. The mtec springs are just a good choice when adding any short shifter

Nice to know this I'm purchasing the trd quick shifter and now the mtec springs as everyone agrees it's a good investment , I've been searching thru this forum the reviews of matching the following but simply can't find if it's compatible

Motul gear 300 75w90 bought 3 bottles online for $55 free shipping

Perrin rear shifter bushing - bought online $42 free shipping

Trd quick shifter - bought online $150 free shipping

Mtec spring - $33 just bought online free shipping

tRD short shifter - still debating if compatible with the mtec spring or get another aftermarket that will make the difference as we all expect , not sure which short shifter to buy yet

Any suggestions or help appreciated

I run all of those items listed except I use the Whiteline Positive Shift Kit, shifting is perfect.

Hey thanks for confirming your set up , based on your experience what was the most difficult of the entire installation with this set up ? Besides the fluid exchange ?

The TRD short shift kit comes with a different rear shifter bushing. Why did you also buy a Perrin one? You can't install both.

When I purchased the perrin bushing I had plans just to get the short shifter , then I found a good deal with the trd quick shifter , I will soon post it for sale once installed

Recently changed my transmission fluid @ 27k miles. Switched to Valvoline synthetic. Night and day difference. TRD shifter is now much less notchy and is very smooth.

Anyone found a place where I can get the short shifter for the lowest price, from a legit website?

Dealer wants MSRP price for it lol.

Thanks!

Interested in hearing how the red loctite worked. I have the exact same issue, it felt great for the first few drives but clearly vibrated loose. I'm going to redo it tomorrow and if I need red loctite, I gotta grab it early.

Glad to hear it wasn't just me....

I caked the bolt with red threadlocker and a week in it hasn't come loose.
