Hey John, any news on how the RHD fix is going?

I pinged Cust Support a few weeks back and they advised 'we still have not confirmed fitment with the RHD models'

Thanks

Just got around finally to install mine and my Car has the STI Strut Tower and it does fit but its a very tight fit, I'll try and get some more pics later.

Sorry for the delayed response! We are still working to confirm fitment with our RHD bracket. We The prototype was fabricated and sent to one of our associates for test fitting. We should have an update on that soon!

Thanks

Thanks for confirming! It does appear to be quite tight but very nice to know the two are compatible together.

Thanks

@Mishimoto: Will there be a CCV specific kit released for the FRS/BRZ? I apologize if I didn't see it in this thread. From your testing, I see that the PCV catch definitely caught a significant amount of oil after one month of driving in a NA application, while the CCV can did not catch anything. I have a JRSC, and was wondering if the results would be different on the CCV side of things?

Anyone with real life experience showing that a CCV catch can is necessary for a supercharged application? Is anyone getting their intercooler, plumbing, MAF coated with oil without a CCV catch can?

Great question DJ! We did develop a bracket and lines for the CCV side, however we did not end up moving forward with this portion of the kit. Our testing showed it was not needed on an NA vehicle. You are correct that this could be different with a vehicle featuring a forced induction system.

In order to validate the need for such a kit we would need to conduct testing on a turbo or super charged BRZ/FR-S. If anyone with a CCV can installed has positive results we would be very interested to see what kind of accumulation is generated!

Thanks
-John

I'll be more than happy to test a CCV catch can on my supercharged BRZ!
@glamcem: I believe in your thread from last year showed that you collected no oil on your CCV catch can. Can you confirm that your CCV can is still dry even with extensive tracking on your Kraftwerks kit?

I have removed the secondary catch can a while ago since I didn't collect anything

Thanks for the confirmation. Where do you think the blow by is going when on boost? When boosting, the in line check valve on the PCV side prevents blow by from leaving the crankcase and going to the PCV can. Maybe just no blow by at our power levels into the CCV can?

I finished my 3 port can set up. It has both pcv and ccv going in to the can. I have the outlet and check valves going to manifold under vacuum and vent to atmosphere under boost. I had about an ounce of oil blow by after 3 weeks of daily driving.

Could you take a picture of your set up? I want to see how you're routing the tubing and how you're venting to atmosphere under boost. Is this a Mishimoto 3 port can?

Thanks for the pictures. I didn't know that plumbing the PCV and CCV into one can was possible. I thought the two systems see different pressures per @Mishimoto and that this type of routing was not possible. Your check valves and vent to atmosphere at boost allows for this?
