Just got home from the dealership. I now own a Scion FR-S! BUT, I don't get to bring it home until after the unveiling tomorrow night. Sounds like it will be pretty cool. I also got to see it as it was hidden away in a garage that the dealership uses to photograph their cars. I'm really glad I stuck with the Asphalt color. It looks really nice. It's going to be a long day at work tomorrow waiting for the unveiling!!!

Are they not having an official "unveiling" for your car?

Does your dealer have YOUR car listed on autotrader.com for sale? There is an asphalt listed there with a msrp of 26,085 and the last three of the vin of 330?

Looks like they just using it to promote future sales. I haven't listed a car on Autotrader in a long time but I'll be they require you to put in a VIN number to start the ad.

Can we update the front page with 86 winners that have received their car pls. That way we can have a good guess when Scion will send the first86 badges. I'm guessing at least after half of us get our cars.

Something tells me that these numbered plate frames and pens are what became of the "First 86 badges."

sadly i doubt it's real, or i should say high quality cf, i think it's just fiberglass with resin. the plastic coating has bubbles all over the edges, the cf pattern discontinue at the curves which is almost the most obvious giveaway. All and all it looks worst than this 30 bucks license plate holder http://www.bonanza.com/listings/Carb...0Z-G35/6733102

which is sad sad sad

They are real CF.

I've decided I'm going to take a photo of my car and turn the plate into a picture frame for my office. Shouldn't be too difficult.

Mine's not like that at all. Maybe I got lucky getting #3. It has a very clean finish on the top, the pattern continues around all corners as if bent around a mold, and on the backside you can feel the weave of the CF, and see the bends around all the edges.

I will say that around the front edge the resin can make it look like the pattern ends at the bends when looking at it flat on, but if you rotate it in the light you can see the pattern continue and it is very obvious on the back.

I have yet to receive my frame, but I saw one that belonged to another member and you see the pattern on the rear of frame as well.

That sounds like a great idea! I wanted to display my frame in my office, but that giant empty space in the center would have made it a bit boring.
