GT-86 Hits W.A!!! Release date in W.A 18th of June..

Hey homo's....

So was on my way to freo today, stopped at a set of lights and could not believe my eyes.... Silver GT86 with dealers plates on it just getting the green light.... I couldnt do anything but stare and yes i very much regret not taking a photo but honestly doubt i would have had time... Had white paint pen on front top right of windshield but couldnt read... Called Toyota Melville to ask what the F#%k is going on... They couldnt believe it nor did they..
Had to put the misses on as a bit of a laugh to just have them accept what i had seen.. Guy said he would do the ring around and get back to me which he did but said no one knew anything... So called Perth main dealership talked to Carlo and he accepted my claims and admitted he knew one was arriving next wk, heading to Kewdale to be licensed or whatever they do there and will be used for press days etc etc.....

He said he had one other call last week by a wharfie saying he had seen a few coming of a car cargo ship so believed i had seen it...

EDIT: STILL NO PRICE CONFORMATION BTW.........

Anyway nothing really more to tell yas..... Wanted to locate the dealership it may have headed to so i could test drive but he said he had been told Friday release date for all West Oz is 18th June and all are already taken...

He was excited to be getting his model which he said he had ordered with a big wing? I asked 'u mean the Nur edition?' he said 'i dont know, the big one....'

Just to note he asked if i was purchasing or had ordered and i said not until the TRD is available... He told me that wont be for another 8 months after initial release.... However i very much doubt it will be that long.... My guess is after Xmas but who knows really...

Anyone else see the silver GT86 today? it was on Marmion St so it was certainly of the main roads... They never go that way (the car courier transport dudes or whatever u call them)... Its always straight up leach hwy all the way to kewdale....

Anyway share ur thoughts, the first dealer said maybe it was direct import... I laughed at him for that....

Been told some arrived at the toyota parts warehouse today in kewdale. Wouldn't be supprised if it was from there...

If so I would say they may possibly be held up there until the launch date, but who knows.

EDIT, now that i think of it they were probably driving it from the docks to the warehouse, and instead of taking leach hwy they took marmion street to be a little more discrete. I often see new corolla's heading down leach from the docks with dealer plates on (like a fleet of 10 in a row).

What ur saying is totally correct.. They always go in a fleet and never on back roads.. Marmion is a back rd to leach hwy... And now that uve said a few had arrived there is no doubt they was trying to be covert about it going one at a time AND NO WAY IN A FLEET like usual..

No doubt...

They will be held up getting RWC or watever u call it for atleast a week...

Need someone in kewdale to snap up some pics!!!

Any idea how many?.

Just be glad you don't have to pay what we are going to pay here ! Also our finance rates here are not too flash either. House prices, home loan rates. Need I go on, kill me now.

86 all the way. So glad they kept it as the 86 here.

Just surprise us Toyota aust. With a great price. !!!!

I stopped by the Kewdale holding yard last night but couldn't see squat. There are a lot of cars there and it was dark though I imagine they are being kept out of sight...

Since we seem to be calling it names it isn't, why not call it Celica? There was early speculation that it would be called celica......
