The next toy (aka "Daddy Car") is one of the pre-order launch edition 2015 VW Golf R. I got lucky and was able to get one of the first 500 launched in the US. It's a beast! It has a LOT of potential for some serious power.

I have the same forum name on VWVortex and started a build thread there too.

Maybe Jackson Racing can get into the VW market? hint hint wink wink 😉

Hwy 1 will be a fun drive from SoCal up here to the Bay Area.

I am. But I am also planning to take them off over the weekend. My problem is that they lift the intake to a point where it lightly touches the hood padding and I just do not like it.

From what I have read they add no value once you go FI.

Does anyone have a definite answer on where to install two oil sensors? I have both the oil temp and oil pressure coming but want to know the best place to install them. Was thinking of putting the temp sensor on a sandwich and the pressure sensor on the block, but would like some guidance in this regard.

Pressure is usually installed in-line on an oil cooler line, since most people monitoring pressure also have oil coolers.

Temp is already available on the car.

SHARTA uses the oil galley port or whatever it is called on the block.

You could use a oil sensor sandwich plate like this:
http://www.ft86speedfactory.com/trd-...late-1740.html

If you are using the Mocal thermostatic sandwich plate with spacer, this will replace the spacer and you can order a new shorter adapter screw to mount the oil take off plate to.

I found oil temperature readings taken from the sandwich plate were higher than what the ECU reads, as ECU reads post-cooler.

Thanks Mike, can I use the galley plug for the pressure sensor? I do not want to cut or make changes to the current oil cooler set up.

Also, I'm running the Greddy Informeter and it does not show the oil temps. I know the car has this function through techstream but I could not get it to work on the Greddy. This is why I want to install on a sandwich just below the oil filter.

You feel comfortable having 2 "extender" things on there? one screwed onto another? i dont like the feeling of it for some reason.

I'm running oil pressure from the gallery plug next to the AC compressor and it works just fine. i got the prosport oil pressure sender relocator "kit" that has the m18 x 1.5 to 1/8" plug and SS braided line.

Random, should I spend $5k on the Jackson racer kit or $5k on improvements to my house that I just purchased 4 weeks ago? Hmmmmmmm. In terms of return on your investment it's a no brainer. House. In terms of pleasure the $5k would bring.. No brainer Jackson. While my goal was to buy a discounted used kit my wife did say that she wants free air miles and so a credit card is ideal for purchase. But then she will want a vacation out of it which means more $$. So that brings up another point. Live in the now or plan more for retitment. I could save all my life then due premature with all this money. These are the questions that haunt me each day. Fuck.
