Quick Synopsis....
I finally got some time to take some pics and type up a quick synopsis:
The driving position is perfect, the seats hug you (Im 6', 160lbs), the transmission is nice and direct, the steering is precise, and the brakes are very linear and grab well. The car shares a lot of components with the WRX, as it really is a Subaru built with Toyotas money. The 200hp figure is misleading, at least for me. With the cars low weight, it actually has some decent pick up. Its clearly not in the same league as my built CL, but it'll hold its own. Accelerating from 60 to 80mph in 6th, the car doesnt bog down at all. The powerband is obviously different though. Im used to being able to chug around town at 2k rpms in my CL. There is no torque in the FR-S at 2k rpms. But it starts to wake up around 3500rpm. Im not getting on the car very hard though, so who knows what the powerband really is like at WOT. The EPS was the one thing that made me worried about the car. Its going to take a bit of getting used to, but its very direct. At slow speeds (<10mph) its very light and turns easily. But it firms up noticeably once the speeds increase. Its got a nice weight to it in my opinion. The build quality is very good. It puts the new Si to shame, honestly (what doesn't these days :whyme: ). I've not yet had any fun with it with Sport mode or VSA/TCS off, but that will happen soon ![]() Anyway, enough blabbering, heres the goods (click for big): ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Heres the backseat "space" ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Current Mods: -Grimmspeed License Plate Relocator BIG thanks to Justin and everyone else at Grimmspeed

Oh, since Ive seen this asked in the past:
Im insured through State Farm. Im a 23yr old male with one ticket on my record -an 86 (heh, fitting) in a 65. My primary car is a 2003 Acura CL Type S. I have $500 deductibles and $100k/$300k/$100k coverages. I pay $130/mo for the CL and $81/mo for the FR-S with the same coverage.

First asphalt FR-S pictures I've seen so far. Thanks for posting those up! Looks hot.
Just one question -- have you noticed any rattling/creaking noises with the car? |

After owning your car for a few days what is your opinion on Asphalt now that you've seen it in a variety of different light and different times of day?
I'm worried about my decision on the color equivalent for my BRZ.

Thanks for the heads up. Do you have your car and is it Asphalt? Are you basing this on pictures or seeing it in person?

Where did you get your license plate relocation kit? I was a bit unsure of how it would look but I have to say it looks pretty good to me.
