So now I guess it's the "first 8 or so"

Seriously though grats on the car and owning the thread. Hoping my car arrives soon, orig date was the 12th, now 17th, hopefully doesn't get delayed again.

Of course the only full day I'll have to drive it for 2 weeks, it rains 18 hours straight and NC mountain drivers go 15 below the speed limit in 1952 Ford trucks. Efffffff.

Is this true? Would this be the third one sold in the nation? If so, wow. I've been reading as much as I can in this forum and am really starting to realize how unearthly/undeservingly lucky I am. So many of you have gone through the proper channels to get your car (and yet are getting delayed )and I just happened to wake up early on a Saturday and dumb-arsed my way into one that I could take home that day. I know it's not exactly true, but I feel like I robbed one of you out of getting your car or something.

Congrats Ryan! I've got a bit of an odd question for you. Your VIN doesn't by any chance end in 234, does it?

So far you are the first known buyer of a First 86 car that became available when the "winner" backed out or changed their mind or whatever. Don't feel bad about it. Enjoy the good luck/timing! We are glad you found FT86Club and are sharing your experiences!

Once more cars are on the road, say maybe next year, we should organize a weekend get-together to go camping and drive the BRP and other western NC scenic roads.

So what I'm curious on is what these people who are getting these cars actually paying in the end? I know there's been many arguments about pure pricing and how it works along w/ dealer mark ups, but I'd like to see some numbers on owners who've already bought the car. Is it the 24,900?

24,930 + 3m paint and ttl = 27,825.08 otd in chicago on an ultra manual.

Miles on the tC? Trade-In value? Might be selling mine rather than trade-in.

What's the issue? If someone would give me 10k plus what I paid for the car I'd be an idiot not to do it.

There's a difference between someone going "I'll pay you 35k for that car!" and "I'm selling my car, 35k minimum"

While it is a free country and free market, and I DO agree that it's smart business sense to sell for more than you paid for it, I don't know anybody that'd buy a Scion for at least 10K over sticker.

That and the fact that the dude's asking that much but is DAILYING the car until it is sold rubs me the wrong way.

I agree there is a difference between someone going up to you & saying I'll give 35k for it. The guy posted up on ebay asap without hesitation & charging 10k over sticker. Its a free country I agree, he can do what ever he wants. Cuz I'm still gonna get my FR-S or BRZ. Its just sickening that other people want to get the vehicle badly & would appreciate it for what it is. A peice of history that will be priceless. He got it & is trying now to make a profit. He's still deserves a swift kick in the nuts NOW by a Kung fu Master just for this guy KailKev defending him. LMFAO!!!!!

i dont know for you guys...but here in canada, this car otd price is around 32k for the white one with special paint, blah blah blah, if he add any aditional protection or whatever, depending on local taxe, its maybe close from 35k, so saying he try to get 10k over the price, its not really true.

I got out the door, everything, including an 6AT for $28K, and that was with a rip-off $600 doc fee (don't get me started). His would have been less than that by at least the price of the transmission. 1st86 units didn't have any options on them for the most part.
