Need That Tire Advice - Toyota GR86, 86, FR-S and Subaru BRZ Forum & Owners Community

I'm planning on getting some wheels. The specs on them are 18x9.5 +38

. Doing that on all fours. If I plan on lowering my car soon and i don't want to roll or pull my fenders. What would be the best set of tires for my situation?

Ha! You beat me to it.. I was gonna ask same question.
From what ive read so far, 245 35 is issue free, no rubbing, but depends on how much u lower.

As per 1010tires.com (tire size calculator) they are a little bit over sized.
Despite that, that's probably what im gonna go with, just because the difference in size is small, and there is so much more choice or rubber out there compared to 245/35.

I would say a 245/35 if you're wanting to stay away from rolling/pulling fenders.

How low you're going and the type of camber you'd run is also a factor. I'm going to assume not very much camber.

255/35 would be ideal and 265/35 would be on the meaty side of things.

It's more of a "proper" sized tire.

I personally don't have any issues against stretched tires. Most others on this forum do though so I'm just going based off that fact.

a 255/35 would be a "better" sized tire for that wheel, but loads of people have run 245/35 without any issues.

a 245/40 is a pretty good sized sidewall and will take up more room than the 35 series.

I have that same set up...and currently I am running 225/40 all around. but you can run a bit wider.

If i can do it again I would run 235/45 all the way around...or you can run beefer on the rear and smaller on the front

i was running 255/35 on my car with no rubbing. didnt have to roll fenders or pull fenders at all.

Ran 255/35/18 on 18x9.5 +40 no issues even on track (see pic). 235/45/18 is a bit too tall and i'm hitting the Fender liner in the front at full lock inwards and have a bit of rub in the rear and might roll fenders. Name: ImageUploadedByTapatalk1423670307.116522.jpg
