Tinting mirrors to reduce nighttime glare

So I have been very interested in buying a set of Prova wide mirrors in a yellow tint for night time driving. These mirrors though, are not a full replacement but simply a mirror you stick on top of the factory one from what I understand.

Would I be able to simply tint my mirrors using yellow Laminx and get the same effect? I'm unsure if there is some sort of special polarization to those mirrors.

Has any one done this before?

-Thanks

"Wide angle" mirrors change the optics to get that "wider" view. Tint alone can not do that. Did they use a special tint? I have no idea.

Tinted mirrors using vinyl would be very blurry. Do not recommend.

I mounted a set of yellow mirrors on my car by removing the old mirrors from their housing. I removed the mirrors with brackets attached from the car (they snap right out). To remove the OEM mirror from the bracket, I used a heat gun to soften the adhesive holding the mirror onto the bracket. Took out the OEM mirror, then reused the adhesive to install the new yellow ones (added LED turn signals underneath). Worked like a charm and has held well for months now. If you want more glue, then use 3m Windo-Weld (you can get it on Amazon).

Rexpeed mirrors are the actual glass replacement. It's what I have and they're amazing. I'd never go back.

These are the ones I have.

+1 for the Rexpeed full-replacement mirrors. Wide angle, and anti-glare. I couldn't believe how much more I was able to see after replacing my factory mirrors with these, and like @Porcupint said - I can't imagine ever going back to the factory mirrors after installing these.

Thanks for the replies. For those that have yellow tinted mirrors, how well do they reduce glare at night?

Don't have yellow, but the blue is incredible at reducing glare. I could care less if there's a jacked up truck with HID's behind me now. Previously it would give me a headache and have me cussing, but now it doesn't even make me squint.

From what I understand blue tints are suppose to improve daytime glare, yellow tint for night. I dunno.

Plus the yellow as an additional asthetic appeal to me and would compliment my yellow fogs!

Have you noticed it affecting the mirror heat function?

Have u noticed the heater function for the mirror being affected? I asked the other person but I noticed they live in LA. Weather fluctuation rarely happens.

LA as in Louisiana and we've been jumping between mid 20's and 80's the last week lol

The heat function seems to take a little longer, but I never timed it to compare to stock. Usually by the time I get the 2 miles down the road to the interstate, they're completely clear. So around 1.5 minutes to go from completely fogged/frozen to clear.

My yellow mirrors do help night time glare and are also brighter at night than blue ones I've seen. I think the yellow is made for this purpose.
