Planet is selling at $1k over MSRP. They have four slots remaining, as davisk6 has the first one.

Atlantic in Bourne is offering MSRP; They have a limited allocation, though (maybe only one other slot). I'm OTD at $30,461.50 AFAIK. I just need to know now within 30 days when they expect the car to arrive, so I can start saving my pennies for a down payment.

Congrats bro. And, now the wait begins. Mine total OTD limited with no added accessories was $30,800 after all fees, taxes, registration and so on. That includes new plates. I could def save some money transferring over my existing plates instead. Not sure how much I would save.

Is this going to be your only car? This would be mine. I've been wondering if my car doesn't come until August-December if I would pass since the prime driving seasons are over and I'd have to buy snow tires sooner than later.

Transfer plates: $100
New Plates: $125

This will not be my only car, but it will be my only practical car. I'm looking forward to having RWD in the snow again; it's so much fun!! I plan on getting a set of WRX wheels or similar and putting 16" snow tires on. If next winter is anything like the one we just had, you shouldn't have to buy snow tires immediately. I lucked out this past winter because my S4 comes with summer tires and I wasn't about to shell out $800 for snow tires on a car I was only keeping for 6 months! The one or two times I had to drive on snow was terrifying; even the best AWD system only does so much!

If for some reason however I can't get the Subaru before winter, I'm not too concerned as I can lease another Audi through my dealership for cheap and that will get me through 6-12 months until I can get the BRZ. I really feel like I've waited long enough though; I don't want to wait any longer than I absolutely have to!

Thanks for saving me from looking that up. My current plates are pretty ugly due to rust, etc, so I was thinking of requesting new plates rather than a transfer. For $25, that's not too bad. Of course, I could also just request replacement plates for the existing ones, couldn't I? It looks like the fee for that is only $10.

You could, though I'm not sure how long replacement plates take to arrive. You might want to get on that sooner rather than later.

Nope. Although my salesperson has called me a couple of times to say they get their first cars in the begging of june, next batch beginning of july.

I highly doubt we will be getting VONs. SoNE does things differently.

I just checked with my dealer (Patrick in Shrewsbury). He said that they're getting 7 BRZs in the first batch, which is the combined output of the two boats coming into Boston this month. Those cars should be available around the end of the month. Unfortunately, there aren't any Limited automatics in that first batch. They're going to call around and see if any other dealerships want to swap cars to line up with their pre-orders, but if that doesn't work I'll have to wait another 3-4 weeks for the next allocation (and then hope that the second batch has a Limited auto).

He did say that if a car from the first batch is available for a test drive (they're not letting anyone test drive the pre-ordered cars), he'll call me so I can come out and take it for a spin.

My sales rep JUST called me and said my DGM LIMITED will be in the first delivery mid June and I will be the first to test drive. I placed my preorder with Bertera of Hartford on 4/30. They are the 3rd largest subie dealership in NE. #1 is in NH. Mine is getting 36 and NH is getting 44-46.

Let us (me) know when the test drive becomes available cause I'd like to do the same too.

And you're the first I've heard so far that's going for the auto, why not the manual?

Two main reasons:
1. I commute 2.5-3 hours every day in rush-hour traffic (from the 'burbs to Boston), and I'm not really interested in turning that time into a workout for my left leg. I'm already barely civil in the mornings; having to exercise won't help that.

2. I prefer the gas mileage of the auto. With my current driving patterns and fuel costs, the upfront cost savings of the manual are about equal to the difference in 5-year fuel costs (ignoring TVM, I admit), so that's not a big factor. More important to me is that having better fuel economy makes my life less sensitive to variations in the price of gas. If premium gas goes up to $6-7/gal over the next 5 years, it will hurt my wallet less if I have the auto. (I know that an experienced, careful manual driver can probably beat the EPA ratings, but I suspect that an experienced, careful auto driver can do it, too.) Also, I like the slight emissions advantage over the life of the car.

If just one of those factors were in play, I'd probably buy the manual. But with both, it's not much of a contest for me. I admit that I was slightly tempted, though, when the dealer said they had a manual limited available in the first batch.

Yeah as I continued to read your post after I wrote that it appeared that you did know and it was only a typo.

Just received a call from Patrick Subaru that they received confirmation on my BRZ. As Sovran mentioned there are two boats coming into Boston this month. They're not sure which one mine is on, but it's one of the two.

Let's hope its the first one!
