One question, do you guys remember what the reps said about those TRD add ons being dealer options? Is that added at dealer or at port?
I believe they will be dealer added options but the particular cars at the event were shipped over with the TRD parts. I am in the same situation as you with this car. I was on the fence but there was no way I would pre order one without driving it first. Driving it made me want it now!

To my knowledge, TRD addons are going to be dealer parts, but they will not become available until winter of 2012.

Nice pics! I was there as well. Agree, the handling and balance of the car was great out on the course. Cornered very flat, and the damping was well matched to the TRD springs. The exhaust was perfect in terms of noise level. Not too loud, not too quiet.

Great idea for Scion to introduce the FR-S through an autox course. I'll put up my thoughts/pics tomorrow.

Oh well that's cool I guess. Can always come back to the dealer for install later.

Yeah it's getting harder to wait now lol.

Also, I think this has been mentioned before in this thread but, having not driven the car with the stock suspension and tires it's hard to tell how much of the awesomeness was due to the TRD + Yokohama mods. I'm willing to go out on a limb and assume it's just as awesome stock. How else could it garner such positive reviews almost universally?

Now all that's left is for me to get off the MT vs. AT fence!

You can always tell when the manufacturer sets up an auto-x type test track like this...

They use WAY too many cones!

Didn't like the gauge lighting in pictures or video, but when seen in person at night it looks good - much prefer it to the red used in the Subie.
Headlights look OK on lighter cars, and good on Whiteout IRL, but there is a bit too much bling in them for the darker colors.

Even if the stock ones are not just as awesome, if all it takes in some springs and sticky tires (mods I would do anyway) thats not that bad of a deal

Would have been nice if they had used a layout similar to what the D.C. SCCA region uses. Putting a freaking narrow lane of cones with one every 6 feet is a joke. Especially at an event where people are supposed to get a feel for the car. A course like that clearly says to the participants we don't want you to explore what the car can do.

I wish I remembered to ask the Yokohama guys when I was there. But I did find out that tirerack has the FRS listed and with both Enkei wheels. I didn't check to see if they were 17's or 18's though.

Ditto -- thank you for posting the pics and videos.

The event was nicely set up and everyone was good natured. The Scion folks were really pleasant and competent, and the event reflected very well on brand.

Agreed -- with the caveat that the pavement was very smooth. 18-inch wheels and a stiffer suspension may not go so well with more typical Baltimore/DC area pavement.

From outside, I concur (and the exhaust tips looked much nicer to boot). From inside the car, though, I found it was too loud to my taste. Other than that, very much enjoyed the car.
