Yes I was in the driver's seat for about 10 minutes total, did everything but steal the shift knob ... A surprising number there did not seem interested in sitting in it. I don't think the car is "ghetto" enough to strongly appeal to the crowd there for the most part, they were nearly all college-age or younger and drove cars that were riced-out to various levels. Or maybe some just can't afford it!

Although these days at Canadian Tire you can get OBD readers on sale for $40, so if it turns the light off it might be worth it. Because after you swap out your snows for your OEMs the light is still going to be on.

As to visibility, I drive a coupe too, a little bigger than an FR-S though, and the rear quarter windows in it are actually useful. I was a bit shocked at how much less I saw out of the rear of the FR-S. Good thing the rear deck is so short!

From what I've heard, TPMS are becoming mandatory in the States so more and more people are going to run into this situation. Manufacturers are going to have to come up with a better solution to handle swapping winters/summers. Perhaps design the system to recognize two sets of transmitters?

I have one of there OBD readers. it only lets you read the codes if you want to reset anything you have to pay for more software.

I was surprised how quiet the car was even at high RPM. It might have been that my ears were just blasted by the loud music but it sounded quieter than my RSX. Overall I was really impressed with the car. I'm 6 ft and around 215 pounds but I fit comfortably in the very supportive and low seats, I had plenty of headroom too. The quality of the seat fabric was also decent. A lot of people have been ragging on it and saying the interior is too cheap, but I thought it was great.

^ I'd largely agree on the interior of this demonstrator, because it had the upgraded LCD HU. The base HU though...

Only the HVAC dials look pretty cheap - weakest link (after the base HU).

Car sounded good and loud when the "music" from nearby boomers was off - personally I would not want it to be any louder.

They spent so much time and thought into the rest of the car, compared to everything else in the car the HVAC looks like they went to a junk yard and picked the cheapest one there.

I was there last night too. I think the interior is reasonable. What are people comparing it to? Compared to the 8th gen civic Si. It's around the same. They could have used nicer dials but its to the point. I really don't get why the 60kmh mark on the speedo is so low though.

The seats are firm and well bolstered. Clutch and acceleration felt nice and weighted. Shifting felt smooth, throws could be shorter.

Yes, the tire warning stayed on during the winter months, but it never bothered me to the point that I need to bring out the electrical tape.

I've not seen a $40 OBD2 reader from CT/eBay that can reset warning lights. They're usually significantly more. Guess, we'll look for these cheap gadgets in the future, if they become available.

As to visibility, I drive a coupe too, a little bigger than an FR-S though ...

What I was trying to say was when you then put the summer tires back on, the light would still stay on. Or does it somehow recognize that you are re-mounting the original tires? What if you rotate them?

Neither - just a low-rent 98 Tiburon with 55k mileage (although in today's dollars it was only $2k less than an FR-S). Driving home on the freeway last night, I had the thought that as much as I loved the FR-S, the Tib is still fun and responsive at speed (suspension tuning was done by Porsche engineers), so the the FR-S is going to have to feel fantastic on the test drive for me to go ahead with my order.

I presume that is only if you have sensors in your winter tires. Good for resetting for summer though.

Guess I will have to shop for the cheapest Android tablet I can find.

Yes, it remembered the summers, so it goes off as soon as they're re-mounted and had a few turns.

Rotation is not a problem too. As long as the registered signal is received, it doesn't matter which corners the wheels are.

I've a Captivate and know about the Torque app. Just wonder which eBay BT device you've mentioned will work, as there are many labelled as OBDII v1.5, they all look similar and probably the same package, priced about $18 and up.

I can't speak to the specific models, I know the one I purchased from Amazon worked fine. There is a whole thread on this somewhere. Search for OBDII or BT.

Oh just another thing I forgot to mention. The Asian girl who was from Scion told me the Greddy supercharger is going to be available soon and makes 360 Hp. Was she making things up or is there proof of this?
