Agreed.

At least they are doing BIW now with the TLX for RTR and others. When HPD announced that some buddies of mine (all Honda racers) were around and suggested bringing back DCs, EGs and EKs BIW and they'd sell a shitload. HPD was not amused from what I've heard

Sadly leadership and Honda and HPD both support the enthusiast community and support the older cars (and personally own ITRs) and want Honda to return to it but.. until there's a financial motivation... yeah...

Viper ACR: Not really a street car

Matching Ferrari at less than half the cost would be a huge accomplishment IMO. It would also put Acura back on the performance map and give them a halo car again. Acura car sales lately have been awful. They had a lot of success when they were known as a semi-luxury, sporty, but value-conscious brand. Beating Ferrari at its own game would be a nice first step in their comeback.
The Jag F type everyone forgets about should certainly be on this list at sub-100k

I don't think the Jag F Type comes close to beating the performance of the 458.

Probably not, but it should be compared along with the rest of those I think. That's the car I'd own if I had 80k. I know this isn't a personal preference thread though.

I just sold my S2000 lol, moving to China to teach English, so when I get back in a few years I'll either get this or the new supra... hmmm choices, or maybe even the new RX-7?

If they throw a manual in one, it will be very high on my list, but I would wait a couple years because Jags have horrible resale values and the F Types are definitely not flying off dealer lots currently.

Why not just get a GT Vantage? They're going for $99K with a manual at your local Aston dealer.

$99k is too rich for me. I have looked at manual Astons on Autotrader a couple times.

You can still pick up a pretty base Vantage with a stick for $60K. Of course we never talk about those because of the reliability factor. I've never been underneath one, nor have i heard about those era of Aston's being horribly unreliable, just maintenance by itself is expensive.

Hell, there's one going for $41K...

Yeah I agree, I don't think the new NSX is designed to be a 458 competitor. It's more like a baby 918/P1/LeFerrari. It won't come close to matching the latter three in terms of performance, but it won't cost nearly as much either.

What I was getting at in my post was I would love for Honda/Acura to release an MR supercar that's around $100k, not hybrid, that would beat the 458 in performance for less than half the price. Basically what Honda did to Ferrari's old 348, I'd love to see them do to the current 458.

They can't even have the NSX right yet, and that rumor had been on going for how long ? I doubt they will use Civic R engine in this coupe. It is too foolish.

They should have brought the already to produce Civic Type R Hatch to the states, 2 or 4 doors, it doesn't matter.

The NSX is far from a rumor. News flash: It takes time to build world class supercars.

The Civic Type R is FWD and hideous. I'm okay with it staying in Japan.
