Ok nice, just want to understand that part. I have nearly hit my "car savings" goal haha so I am compiling everything on a spreadsheet of what I will need

What's funny is that this list is actually a lot longer except people never talk about their car on this forum.

Can anyone tell me if i would need a custom tune if i only had an Evo3 exhaust? Or will the factory tune work with just the catback?

CARB tune works with a catback exhaust. No need for a custom tune unless you modify from the factory catalytic converters.

A couple questions, but first a few excuses for not searching through the thread...

- I'm on my phone (pain in the rear)
- I'm in a quick lunch break
- I just had a beer (I'm not supposed to drink while on the clock [St Bernardus...yum])
- Gotta head back to work

So the questions:
- What should I expect final cost to be?
- If doing a DIY install on a basically stock BRZ, which Kit should I look at? With tune it without?
- After doing the kit I would likely upgrade exhaust at the least. What other upgrades would make sense over the long term?
- I think I'd like to end up with at least 300 whp. Will this get me there?

Thanks. Feel free to yell at me for not searching or w/e.

See Below. Costs are ballpark and not exact.

So the questions:
- What should I expect final cost to be? Kit $5000 (with tune) plus installation ($1000+) Without tune $3900 plus cost of tuning ($700?)
- If doing a DIY install on a basically stock BRZ, which Kit should I look at? With tune it without? With tune unless removing a catalytic converter.
- After doing the kit I would likely upgrade exhaust at the least. What other upgrades would make sense over the long term? Retune if removing catalytic converter. Engine Oil Cooler. Tires - With SC, stock tires are easy to spin. Upgrade clutch if going to higher hp.
- I think I'd like to end up with at least 300 whp. Will this get me there? With conservative tune, I am in the the 295-300 range.

Thanks. Feel free to yell at me for not searching or w/e.

@Casey10s
Thank you very much. I guess quite a few folks are installing themselves. Sounds like it's pretty easy. I also have a fully equiped shop available (base auto hobby shop).

I don't plan on removing the cat initially. As for tires, I'm on Nitto Motivos right now. Not sure how those rate as far as stickiness...

What other mods have you done? Thanks for your help.

Quick question - does anyone know whether the standard Perrin oil cooler fits with the JRSC? If not, how hard is it to modify the Perrin unit so that it fits?

Thanks!

You just need to make a bracket to mount the oil cooler on, but the Perrin unit won't provide enough cooling for the oil with the FMIC in the way...

Damn, I was worried that would be the answer. Thanks Mike.
