This calculator shows ~ 5.5% difference in power output at the same atmospheric conditions. http://wahiduddin.net/calc/calc_hp_dp.htm
Honestly I have driven at 8000 ft and sea level with my FR-S and the differences were noticeable but I wouldn't say 5% would be horribly slower. Keep in mind that hp will also fluctuate here night and day just from air temp and density. Using that calculator it can change up to 4%.

No offense but I would rather be robbed of 5% of my power than live in Saskatchewan.

Well, I am taking a road trip next week from Calgary to Vancouver Island so I will see if it makes any difference to me. High altitude to sea level. Just had an oil change and am curious to see how fuel mileage is while I stretch the legs in the BRZ.
And wanted to add a new pic!

Hey,

Never introduced myself here but i've seen some of your cars out there on Calgary roads.

Sadly, yesterday I was rear ended twice, by the same driver, and the car is now in the impound lot.

I'd like some thoughts on the whole "write off" process, as having this car fixed and returned just wont be the same (Pictures here)

I took a look inside the trunk, the plastic cover does not sit flat any more, the damage must of warped the trunk.

Sorry to hear that, I got rear ended last year and had it repaired. Doesn't write off has to be under the condition that cost of fixing > value of the car?

She tried to run and I got back in front he her, it wasn't like I cut her off too! after she hit me again the car couldn't move, the rear bumper was pushed too far in, she then ran again.

the bitter sweet part is she was caught, at another incident on MacLeod. Turns out she was in "diabetic shock" luckily I have 2 witnesses, passenger, and my dash cam to back me up.

Very true or the user policy has a wave of depreciation on the vehicle

Waiver** my bad

In your insurance policy, mainly ones that has full coverage, there is an endorsement either labeled as 43R or 11H. And that in any case of an accident the vehicle is written off. Insurance will given you full msrp / bill of sale value.

This is something I have to look into, I do have full coverage, the car is less than a year old, and I believe only a touch above 12k km
