Managed to improve my previous time slightly and didn't go off course this time, so my times counted and I ended up coming in 2nd for my class (TTD). Still have some room for improvement, the car should definitely be capable of 1:25's. That said, I think my tires were on the way out. They are up to 20 heat cycles now and 1 of the 2 grooves that are on the tires has been completely worn through on all but 1 of the tires. Fortunately I have a new set that I will be putting on for VIR in October. Next year I think I might move to a different tire (Maxxis RC-1), which will give me a couple points back in TTD and let me run full exhaust. Also, they have a very generous contingency program.

Had absolutely perfect conditions for this morning session. Bright and sunny to warm up the track surface, but cool clear air giving the car lots of power. Managed to drop well over 2 seconds from my next fastest session from the weekend. I think I'll have a pretty hard time beating this time, even with my plan to get headers and exhaust for next year.

New NASA TT2 Lap Record at VIR and Lime Rock Lap

Even though we set a new track record in class I expect to go at least another 1.5 seconds quicker when we sort out the braking issues we were having. I had to brake really early and really softly to avoid locking up the fronts or going into "ICE" mode.

Lime Rock was really this car's first time back and a long R&D process to get this FA20 reliable enough to race with forced induction. We slowly worked up to speed with the car but struggled with too much front brake bias using the Brembo's from the STi. Honestly even though that's a fast lap time I was merely driving around and in no way felt comfortable attacking the track. The engine held on perfectly but transmission busted 4th gear on day two.

At 2935#, a very conservative 57.10 makes me think you're running somewhere around 400 RWHP - is that in the ballpark?
