Buy this o2 harness extension, it plug fits perfectly to ours [yes, the secondary o2] http://www.casperselectronics.com/st...oducts_id=1395 Then either buy an o2 bung and weld it to your front pipe after the cat OR have an exhaust shop do it. I did my own, fits perfectly right after the cat, in between the transmission and tunnel. Install your secondary o2 in new position. I installed the primary o2 in to the position where the secondary would go and bolted in a plug in the other spot. I did this so the primary o2 is getting readings from ALL cylinders and not just one [just like it is on the factory header]. 5k miles down, no CEL. Tried the o2 spacer that speedfactory sells, got a CEL with in 200 miles everytime using ALL the inserts. Cheaper than a tune, and plenty rumbles. |

So the muffler shop will need to drill a hole into the factory front pipe after the secondary cat? Do I need any other hardware besides extension wire and bung? Where can I get a bung and how long of an extension wire did u get?
And so I get this straight, I am basically arranging the sensors as they are on the primary cat, one before and one after, except on the secondary cat once the new header is in. The primary after-cat sensor goes after the secondary cat (need a muffler shop to do this), and the primary before-cat sensor goes in the primary after-cat sensor hole which is in place to be before the secondary before-cat location. How long has this worked successfully for you? No CEL ever with this method? I've heard there's people that use a catted header and still get a CEL so this car seems sensitive. BUT, I've also read instances where people have used a spacer and haven't gotten a CEL, or used a mini-cat spacer. Those didn't work for me. The only UEL that has a cat that I know of would be Speed-Factory's. They are also using a high flow cat, might explain why they still get a CEL. New secondary o2 sensor location after secondary cat. New primary o2 sensor location, in the old secondary o2 port. Old primary o2 location now plugged. How its arranged at the harness plugs. I did it the way I did it to 1. Keep the secondary o2 directly in the exhaust stream. 2. Have the primary o2 get exhaust readings from all four cylinders and not just one. 3. Im sorry to those who find it worth it, but 500 bucks isnt worth 12whp. If I was so worried about getting tiny bits of more power, I wouldn't have gotten this car. |

Thanks for your info and pics chimmy, I might actually get this header now..
So the only parts I need are [1] Uncatted UEL header, [1] 3' extension cable and [1] o2 bung. Can you give me a link to the o2 bung you used? What did you use to plug up the old primary o2 hole? Why does the pic say you moved over the o2 harness, doesnt the extension just extend it from the same spot? |

I DID however, had to give the primary wire harness a good tug to pull it over in to its new position. I'm not saying you HAVE to move the primary, but to me, it just makes more sense. |

Did you see any impact on fuel economy after doing this?
