Aftermarket shift knobs?

As most of you havent driven the frs/brz yet this question might be irrelevant.. But what aftermarket shift knobs will people be looking at? It might be hard to find one that fits right because under the knob theres a little disc that you pull up to get into reverse.. I have large hands and i find the stock shifter a little on the small side, what do you guys think for shift knobs?

Im really hoping one of my mazda knobs fit because I like all of them more than the stock frs knob. Dunno what threading the frs has though, but Ive got a 50/50 chance, hah.

Failing that, something from moddicition or joyfast maybe, something similar to current OEM mazda knobs (mx5, rx8, etc).

I would love to get a Spacro Globe on there... And paint the center strip on the knob WR Blue... But gotta check with that reverse disc first...

I'll get the Razo RA96 once I get my fr-s. It works with the reverse ring.

Wow! Those look fantastic! Thanks for sharing, i might seriously get one of those. I feel like shift knob is the most important "mod" you can do... Because its the part of the car you touch the most... Aside from the seats and steering wheel.. Both of which are fantastic in the fr s

WC Lathe Werks

Was just about to post a plug for them. I have their co-poly knobs on my subarus and I love them. Even though they're black, they don't get overly hot in the summer, have a great feel, and are very durable. A WC Lathewerks shift knob will be going onto my BRZ very shortly after I get it.

Oh, and nothing beats a simple sphere.
And shift pattern engraving is for grannies.

They do custom work too, just e-mail them your idea.

I've never really been a fan of the ball shaped knobs. I had the spherical TRD knob in my MR2 but I feel like I only got that because it came with the short shifter. I hope I can swap it with a handle grip style one like in my 5. That Razo looks like a great option though seein as it works with the reverse ring. If only it looked more stock

The Razo knob is a nice-looking piece. I sold a few to Scion customers when I worked in Toyota parts. Solid feel and (initial) quality was quite good. Made in China though, if I'm not mistaken. So yeah, buy American!

It's too bad they don't still make these TRD Duracon knobs; quite small but they don't heat up like the metal knobs and they look very cool - rally style! I have one in my MR2, and a NISMO one for my Z. Maybe I'll follow the trend and put an STi duracon knob in the BRZ...

E-mail this picture to WC Lathe Werks. He can probably make you a replica that's very close. Especially if you still have one to take measurements from. The copolymer he uses has the same properties you mentioned. Though I'm not sure how the collar at the bottom will do with the reverse lockout ring. You may have to choose from having the collar at the bottom and a slightly taller shifter to not having it and a shorter one.

I've always preferred the pistol grip type like in the Mk1 MR2. Here's one from act-labs.com that looks pretty cool.

I've also seen a couple of modders that use surplus fighter joysticks. One actually wired all the buttons to control things like headlights, etc. A little over the top for me, unless I did mount a couple of 50 CALs where the fog lights go.
