Have you tested the stock water pump to see where it cavitates? I guess i'm just used to honda water pumps, them bitches are fine for pretty much anything except the drag cars turning 10.5k lol

And how can you claim that a multimillion dollar corporation cant retain a good rod to stroke ratio to a stroker kit but you can?!? Are you machining the block?

since you have them in pieces it'd be great if you could bench flow the heads. ive been wanting to know how efficient these heads are. I gotta find out why we dont make much power with these engines

the HKS kit is designed to be dropped into a stock block. I am going to extreme limitations with 3.5mm overbore which will have more clearance

hm well the stock 100 hp per liter would be alright in a lighter car. But with all the technology in this motor, its should really be more impressive.

Regarding the heads: you'd be hard pressed to find a DI engine with higher flowing heads than any Toyota D-4S engine. DI heads are going to be more restrictive than a PFI head, because mixture motion is created inside the cylinder. This isn't an S2000.

So all the BMW's out there with ECU controlled variable speed electric water pumps don't work?

The best way to gain power with an electric pump is to control the coolant temperature with the thermostat and set the coolant temperature and pressure delta across the engine by changing the pump flow rate. This is exactly how mass produced with OEM throttled pumps (electric or mechanical) do it.

Sure when you are working with a BMW pump that costs a fortune specifically engineered into the car, they can do it. My particular case I can not drop below 9v or the pump will not turn the water I already had the schematic drawn up with a FET to change voltage based off the ECT input value. Problem is the table of data tolerance would be so tight with the coolant temp sensor operating range of (</= 1.0v) - (>/=2.0v) = 9v-12v output.

Basically scaling a 1 vt temp range change for a 3v difference in range output

Could be done maybe this is how BMW is doing it.

Excited to see this build come to life. Sub'ing.

Will you be running a dry sump oiling system or do you plan on making modifications to the factory Oil pump to accommodate 10K+ rpm.
