First weekend of the year on track at Road Atlanta was fantastic! Peachstate PCA put on a a great event as always and I was able to have some good fun pushing the car hard in group 4.

My best lap of the weekend was a 1:50.1. Got some GoPro footage uploading and some amazing on-track photos coming in a few weeks.

How're you liking that harness setup?

Friends and instructors have recommended a good harness "system" for maximum feel of the car while on track, and I've been looking for an option to save the stock seats. Yours looks awesome, and at a pretty good cost considering you don't have to buy new seats and keeping everything street legal still.

I can't recommend this setup enough for anyone that tracks their car. I should have done it all a long time ago before the first track day with mine. It makes a huge difference in my confidence on track and my driving has improved greatly as a result. With the stock 3 points on track I was a passenger in the car despite being the driver. The stock seats are pretty good for for keeping an average sized guy like me secured for normal spirited driving but when you're on track with a grippy setup like ours your body will move around more than you'd think. The harnesses make you "one" with the car and you can feel so much more feedback through the seat into your body which instantly makes you more situationally aware and able to focus on your driving. I don't think I would have cranked out a 1:50.1 this weekend without them, all other things the same.

If you're going to do it with the stock seats, replicate my setup exactly and don't skip anything:
-Harness bar
-Schroth Profi II ASM FE belts with clip-in lap belt ends
-Schroth 01324 hardware kit
-HANS device
-HANS compatible helmet (or have anchors professionally installed)

I highly recommend getting all the gear besides the harness bar from Discovery Parts. They ship free to locals and are located on site at AMP.
PM me with any questions about specific items or how-to's.

Between wedding season and track season I don't have any weekends free this month.

Congrats on the purchase, looks like a fun new DD. Sad to see your BRZ up for sale, good luck with it. Hope you get what you're asking.

Same here, I think I'm going to have it shipped. I've done 3 weddings this month and have trips for the next 3 weekends planned.

I was hoping to keep the BRZ but right now, it's just not practical. Perhaps down the road I'll get back to one or a 911/cayman. Looking forward to having a little more comfortable DD and one with some power!

Got some footage from my advanced solo group sessions this past weekend at Road Atlanta edited down for enjoyment.

Lots of action in this one, ran down and passed several cars including a Cayman S at the end and got a point by right when the battery ran out!

Lots of speed and open track

Had fun running down a yellow 944 race car on Hoosier slicks early in this session Sunday afternoon

Can't believe this was my 10th time tracking my BRZ in less than two years of ownership!

You are getting there man. I think your car with 200 whp should have a 1:45 in it.

It's all here now! Thanks again @Racecomp Engineering and @Raceseng!

Can't wait to install it, dial it in and get back out on the track next month!

Hey, where are you going for your alignment? I'm curious to see what you decide on for settings. I'm still debating what to do with mine... I should probably leave it be...but it's great fun screwing around with it

Maybe I'll setup an alignment rack in my garage haha.

Either Butler Tire in Alpharetta or Gran Turismo East by the PDK airport. Probably Gran Turismo East since they were the last ones to align it and they just recently did @buddy32 's BRZ which is running the same setup as mine will be. Kieran and the guys at GTE are good people and have had their hands on a bunch of local 86's.

Yeah, GTE was great. I just wish they weren't so far from me. I have to get some rear LCAs before I go back anyway... so it may be a while. I'm at the point now where I'd rather spend the money on track days instead of car parts!
