Gasket on down pipe
Hi,
Do you know if the down pipe and turbo hotside is suppose to have a gasket? I didn't get one. And the tab on the air filter sitting about the crash beam doesn't even align with the hole-.- |

No gasket needed since its a machined surface. I use one anyway but it didnt make a difference. The intake is a tight fit since no two cars super soft motormounts hold the engine in the same spot.

I didn't get a gasket, but just like Reaper I did buy one and installed it later. You need to loosely connect the coupler on the turbo and the pipe until you can get the tab to line up with the bolt hole.

Guys, my tuner has just gone to fit the FBM 485 pump kit and is concerned as it doesnt seem to fit properly. It just seem to float around in the bottom of the tank (his words). Any suggestions or a link to some install instructions ? Just like my JDL turbo kit FBM didnt ship their pump kit with any instructions

I just "fixed" this problem for a friend of mine. What I did was drill small holes in the mounting tabs that you can't use anymore because the pump is too tall, then drill a hole in the side of the mounting area on the holder and use a tie strap to keep it from moving around. Also, I've seen a lot of mistakes made when putting in a new pump, the internal hose routing needs to route underneath everything in such a way that it does not interfere with the unit when it's compressed on the slide spring. Otherwise this causes you a lot of issues down the road, kinked hoses, incorrect fuel level readings, etc. Also make sure to solder the leads.. Big pumps make a lot of vibration, crimp connections fail at some point.

On someone who has never installed a turbo kit how hard would it be? Would love to do this myself as I have done all my other mods myself.

I've never installed a turbo. If you can work a set of wrenches and a few sockets you'll be fine.

Take your time, and allow yourself plenty of time to do the work. I knew what I was doing but I still allowed myself two full days dedicated to it.
