I've been stationed in places where unless it was 5 below, we were doing PT.

Its just plain negligant to be in a BRZ in that weather. This is why people end up on the news because they died in their car during a blizzard. Then people on these car forums chime in with "He was an idiot for being in a BRZ during a blizzard."

No this was supposed to be a thread asking a legimate question on How to keep the car on and locked without being inside but it turned out to be a "you're stupid for wanting that and driving your car.in the winter".

I'd like to know too. Example, get out of work, drive 1/2 mile to the liquor store. I would prefer to leave my car running, lock it, run in and grab beer, come back to my car, and drive home.

Your an idiot for going outside and trying anything. Sell your car. Have yourself committed, and then maybe you will be safe and you won't have to worry about locking your doors when you leave the car running. It's too much man. Your going too far you need to ease up is all

Just an FYI, but this thread was started with the supposition that you wanted this feature to leave the car on while "running quick errands." That was the inference I made when I first replied.

Regardless, aftermarket alarms = A+

Simon i'd either look into aftermarket alarm (if possible) otherwise you'll just have to leave the car on and be ready to fight off the bums.
Fight the bums. Game on

Remote start doesn't allow to go get cash to the ATM while keeping the car locked and running unfortunately !

Input is appreciated.

For all those who came hoping to see a WRB with police lights, I'm sorry you were disappointed
I'm with you, practically the first day I had the car I tried this, and was annoyed when the car just beeped at me to say 'DENIED'

The smart key isn't very smart. You can also start the car, say for your SO, and then drive away without the keys. No warning whatsoever except for the light on the dash blinking red or orange or whatever.

At the same time that this system is really stupid, if you put the smart key in the trunk and close it, the car will beep at your FOREVER until you remove it from the trunk. That means the car is better on the ground than inside the car. BRILLIANT!

I haven't read through all the responses, but the only way to do this I've found is to lock manually from inside and then open the door with the key that slides out.
