I'm Ok with the stock radio too, particularly if the other option is the BeSpoke. From what I've seen, don't want it.

I wonder if you can get a credit for the radio if omitted?

Wonder how hard/expensive that will be to do. It may be hard to get a fin with the same antenna sensitivity. Also issues with weather sealing.

Everywhere else you get a better stereo...the BRZ has a nice looking navigation standard, in Europe in the GT86 you get a better looking stock system. Only in America do we get a crappy looking stock system. They could have done better. But it is what it is...

If they were serious, Scion would have a stereo delete option...but at least the bespoke will be an option and the aftermarket will have some good choices too. The overall interior of the FR-S turned out nice...
Don't worry, its not an argument. Only a discussion (this is a forum afterall).

This is why I keep bringing up other cars. Taken from Page 1. I realize this is a BRZ but the numbers should be similar for the FRS if not better.

"the BRZ's respectable 69.1-mph slalom speed and striking 0.92g on the skid pad are more definitive of its character than is its acceleration. Those numbers are better than both the 2013 Hyundai Genesis Coupe (67.4 mph slalom, 0.89g skid pad) and the 2011 Ford Mustang GT (67.3 mph slalom, 0.91g skid pad)."

In a 25K car you get performance of a 60K Cayman. Stop focusing on the stupid stereo. Just buy the FR-S and spend 35K on upgrading the stereo.

I still think the whole idea behind "For 25K, they could have given us something better" is silly. Your missing the point of the design priorities completely if the stereo is the only thing your focused on.

Plus, comparing the GT86 and BRZ to the FRS is totally mixing fruit completely when it comes to the stereo. They don't offer the same thing (well maybe the GT86 does but i'm not sure).

You can't really say "when BRZ comes with navigation standard" without knowing the price difference between the two.

The dealer would gladly shove any radio you asked for into the dash. If you pulled up with a model number and said "I want this one" they would do it and charge you standard labor.

The BRZ\FRS\GT86 are the exactly the same car. Scion just cheapen out on the standard equipment. That is what some of us are pissed about. I never said I was not going to buy the car. (But I might get the BRZ is the price is close)

The FRS will never be a Cayman, or Mustang or Genny Coupe. Those cars are all faster and handle differently and one of them is a real mid engine sports car with a famous nameplate.

Oh and Scion stereos look cheap, I never said there were not any good. The feature set on the stock stereo is pretty good (It does have voice control and HD radio and bluetooth and Iphone integration), its just an ugly looking system, in a bad assed looking car. The FR-S deserves something better looking.

The stock stereo will be the first thing that goes in this car, if the bespoke is unreasonably priced. I am going to a more integrated and sophisticated look in the interior. At least scion made it easy for us to change out the system for something better.

I am all for discussion my friend. No worries.

True, come on Subaru release your damn pricing on the BRZ. Make Scion squirm!

In another thread that UK options were leaked. 750pounds for the radio upgrade, but it's called "touch and go system" I wonder if it's bespoke.

Seriously, why the hell do you need TWITTER and FACEBOOK in your car when your driving. You're not that goddamn important, trust me. And if you are, since just about everybody has a giant screened 4.5" smartphone attached to their arms, use that.

I have only one impression of BESPOKE, and that's when seeing a Youtube review online of driving at night. How the hell do you people get used to a damned LCD (even at low brightness) shining all the time when you're driving? I would rip that damned thing out and throw it away. Thank god for the stock radio. LCDs are crap, they have backlights, and they glow. I don't need one in my car. At least AMOLED is fundamentally better, no backlight, and with a black background, it MIGHT be suitable in a car. But even then, there is no purpose whatsoever for that crap in a car.

Woohoo, glad to see bluetooth, HD Radio and iPod support on the stock radio personally. I noticed they also updated the press kit with the new pics and they are all kkkaaarrrzzzy high res. I cropped out a pic of the radio. It doesn't have a big fancy display and I don't care.

I kind of like it. Looks like an aircraft comm antenna you'd see on the top of a single engine plane (except there is usually a pair of them). I'd probably prefer a shark's fin too, but I'm OK with this one.

The stock radio does have a certain 80s General Motors "charm" to it's appearance.
