Contract

I was finishing up my taxes and looked over my contract for this car and noticed that there was a charge "Century Theft" $250. I think I missed it while signing for the car. I remember saying I didn't want the car alarm to the finance guy. So he told the sales guy to go and take out a "chip" from my car before I drove off with it. Did I pay for car alarm the whole time?

Wait one more thing, Do you guys think I should get my money back or should I just have them put the "chip" back into the car. I think it is "KARR" alarm? Not sure.

Get your money back. Why pay for something you didn't ask for?

I think he was actually asking is it worth the price they charged him or not really all that great of a system. If its already in the total cost of the car, I'd probably just leave it in there and have them install it. Just another selling point if you ever decide to sell off the car.

Something smells carpy here. How many car salesmen does it take to remove a chip? Seriously, those guys would have no idea how to do it.

I know nothing about this system, but this link (compliments of Google) shows this dealer selling the KARR for $695, so if you only paid $250 and it is the same thing, then it was a good deal.

But... I do not know what it adds over the built in alarm system in the twins. My understanding is that if you enable the factory alarm system and your doors or trunk get opened, the alarm goes off.

I have buddies that are car salesman that are better mechanics than the people dealerships hire to mess up your car.

I'm not sure what system it is but there is still the small sticker on my windshield that says "KARR Alarm" on it, that I never peeled off.
