For those that regret it, here's a reminder of why you do it.

I'm storing my BRZ for winter but I get to drive my Wrangler more in winter and it's hella fun in the snow. I would maybe consider driving it once a month but we use the potasium chloride in my area. It's killing me waiting until Spring but I'd rather keep my ride looking nice and since I don't know what future mods I might want I want the underside rust free.

OP maybe you need to clean up that truck, scrape that rust and rhinoline it. Wire wheel those rims, maybe add a system. Make it fun to drive again.

I store it if it snows, freezing rain, or too much salt is on the roads. I want to preserve the undercarriage. I kind of like it - gives my knees a break.

I have declared winter over...drove the car this weekend and while I had to watch for potholes that haven't been filled yet, it was a great! Installed a M1 Abrams shift knob while I was at it.

Cool

After reading this thread I feel better about driving my 03 celica in the winter. So many people against it on here under another thread. Paid for gt with only approx 95000 km & no problems. Im sure I will miss driving the 86 tho. I liked the comment above about the erotic dreams about missing driving this car.

You're implying they're actually going to fill the pot holes. My town doesn't seem to be bothering this year.

They've been starting although there are still a few biggies...I tried my best to memorize them before the first journey...had to cut off some lady in a Lexus this morning to avoid the big one in the middle lane...she looked puzzled as to why I cut her off in the slow lane...lol.

I stored mine this winter, and not really regretting it. I am regretting that I stored it in my dad`s garage that is used for only storing things and he doesn`t get that part of the yard cleaned. The winter we got has given us a good 6-8 feet of snow on the ground... and it just started melting a few days ago... Global warming my butt. Come over here and see what global warming gave us this winter .

While I may regret it being stored as the weather warms up, I'm reminded each and evey time I am under the car changing parts. Nothing is rusty, EVERYTHING comes apart easily and it is pretty much as pristine as the day I brought it home.

My FR-S spent much of the past two winters in the garage, and even when the roads were clear, I often times left it there if temps were below freezing.

I was hoping it would be a halfway capable year round car with winter tires, but after seeing how it performed on the all seasons, even a big improvement wasn't going to get me where I wanted to be (I'm used to AWD), so I figured why spend the money on a second set of wheels/snow tires. Traction aside, other aspects of the car disagree with winter, such as the second gear crunch. If it went below 15F, no matter how long I let it warm up, that first shift into second just felt painful. I've read all the threads about the issue, and the part about how it was a design decision, but nothing will convince me that doesn't hurt at least one transmission component.

I was going to winter store but the thing does great in the snow with snow tires, better than fwd imo. But it sucks on ice. I guess I just couldn't part with it that long, sure there's going to be rust from the salt but you only live once might as well get the enjoyment of driving it all seasons.

I stored my car this winter... and have also been unable to drive due to an illness in 2014.

I just started driving again 4 days ago and conveniently, all the snow has finally melted!

THE JOY I HAD WHEN I TOOK IT OUT OF THE GARAGE!

I'm shouting because it's worth it. I had such a blast driving it around today. I even went for another drive 'just because' after supper. It was better than watching TV shows!

This year's goal is to increase the boost on the supercharger (260-270whp would be nice!) and to get myself some really good grippy tires. (Michelin Sports) I just have to make sure enough money is coming in to support my hobby!
