Crickets are...gone?

Bought my car on April 2013, been having crickets since May. Recently, I've noticed they are GONE. Can't even force them to show up even with the engine really hot. And I've been fueling up from the same gas stations. Anyone else with the same experience?

some have reported after miles it just goes away on its own. I on the other hand still have them furiously. Probably have about 4-6k on the pump

Any chance you switched gas companies?

There are a couple of gas stations I don't fill up at. I don't know if it's the ethanol or what but there's a direct relation to engine sound/crickets depending on the quality of fuel.

Either way, good news!

After considering what normally gets rid of crickets, you're going to want to watch out for under hood tarantulas.

gas stations can change suppliers.

And the formula changes from tank to tank.

The mix is not always the same.

main crickets cause is low octane gas. Most of us getting it is using 91 which is the highest we can get within the 100 mile radius of our location. No suprise you don't have it with your 93.

What does octane have to do with the noise? It's just another fluid to the pump.

Well, I live in Texas and having been using Shell 93 octane since day one. I went through 4 pumps before finally getting the newest one, which hasn't chirped yet. I don't think octane has anything to do with it.
