I'm surprised that these days you can get G37 at the price of one of these Genesis Used. But the Genesis is really getting up there with it's interior and power. Hyundai has some good ideas that should be given some credit.

Agreed! As an enthusiast I like it when competition drives the market. I don't care where or who it's coming from.

Isn't the Infiniti G going to be updated soon too? no word from Japan on when they are updating the Skyline(G37)... But I'm thinking since the Z was face lift recently they'll do is soon too. You're right they are preparing for battle....I got a feeling they'll me more GC on the roads in the future.

The BRZ makes up with its actual passion and engineering. Not saying the new GC doesn't have either, just not the same lol

Don't know if this means anything since it's purely subjective, but I have a buddy who initially hated the new GC's design refresh. He actually out right hated the GC all together, but that's here nor there. He just got back from a trip to Seoul, Korea where he saw the car in person and sat in one. Wait for it...
He absolutely loves it. BTW, he drive a IPL G37S coupe 6MT. He is currently thinking about selling his G37 and picking up a GC 2.0T. Saw him last night and he couldn't stop gushing praises for the car. So I guess we really should wait and give the GC a fair shake.

I'm looking forward to trying the new one, I tried the old 2.0T and didn't like it I'm hoping I have a better experience with it next time.

Yeah if you like smaller cars then cars like the GC will probably not be your cup of tea, but if you're looking for a bang for the buck car with room to spare then it might fit.

I like that Hyundai is improving their quality and performance.
I like that they make the Genesis Coupe where a lot of manufacturers would fear to tread. But I will never own a Hyundai. As a parts wholesaler, I know how much of a PITA it is to get Hyundai parts and how expensive they are. And parts for a low volume performance car are going to be even worse. Hyundais are cheap to get, expensive to repair. So buy new and sell at the end of the warranty (which, thankfully, it pretty long with a Hyundai). |

The 3.8 is even get some FI options now. There is a APG Rotrex SC that will put out close to 450whp (+150whp/100ft-lbs)with all the supporting mods (ie built engine). It is gonna be pricey. I think the guy spent close to $10k to get there.
I think turbokits is putting together a kit for the 3.8. Not sure about pricing but puts out around +150whp/140ft-lbs on a stock motor @ 8.65 psi on a Mustang dyno. Will be exciting to see how that turns out now that the 3.8 is DI. |
