How does the size of the company have anything to do with their stability? You haven't taken too many business or finance classes have you? Any company could go out of business tomorrow regardless of number of employees, whether they have 2 or 200; that was a pretty uneducated statement to make. Believe it or not, it's a lot cheaper to operate a company in this type of market with 2 people versus 200....

And how the hell did this thread turn from this catted UEL header to complaining about the "size" of the company? Do you people have to find SOMETHING to complain about?

THANK YOU!

I have a Perrin CAI, Overpipe, Berk front catted, and Perrin resonated sitting in the garage. Might as well complete the ensemble before bolting anything on!
Not to mention you need to drop the header to install the over pipe. :p

Not necessarily. Either remove heat shield of OP or slightly jack up about 2 inches of passenger side of motor.

I think that is why ft86 speedfactory do focus more on r&d before release production piece to make sure they have least amount of defect possible. I believe that the quality of product even becomes worse when the company gets bigger and they do mass production.

I often would rather rely a lot more on smaller companies.

If a big warranty and stable business is your deciding factor in purchasing headers, buy borla.

Exactly. We can focus on making this 100% the first time vs. large companies that toss it out as fast as possible and then clean up later. If a small company like us puts a good warranty on something it means we personally stand behind it and are confident it will last.

I think it depends on the companies quality control. Ive NEVER seen a crappy weld on a Mugen or Spoon exhuast part. Ive seen people post pics of your stuff that was questionable, or leaking. Not saying these will leak or be questionable...but what kind of quality control do you have? Were the leaking exhuasts just missed in the QC or is that something done by someone who was out of your organization?

That was very early in the MFG process of our systems. The process has been changed and no more issues have happened for months. We have it refined now and won't be having those issues anymore.

Good deal, I think the more questions you're able to answer the better people will feel about investing in these. Thanks for the reply and reassurance.

Subscribed for updates. Super interested in this header, since it's catted, which allows for easy bolt-on without worrying about the nagging CEL. I am also curious about replacing the cat that's inside the header, since one of the comments mentioned that it was not removable, yet had a lesser warranty than the header.

Can the FT86SF guys shed some light on this?

The Cat technically has a lifetime warranty on it. Most people don't keep a car longer than three years so we felt that would be sufficient for covering the CAT portion ourselves, meaning we pay for return shipping to send it back to us, we cut it out, put a new one in and ship back. Then we handle the cat warranty issue with the MFG.

To many variables once they go out in the wild for us to cover them forever, e85, race fuel, track use, and etc. Most dealers won't even cover your car under warranty if you track it and they find out. We're covering it not matter what for three years.

Look at other headers on the market, very few cover them for life, let alone even have a cat in them. We feel our warranty is very strong compared to others out there.
