I'll do my response with mentions since I'm at work and for some reason can only reply using quick reply (and I copying and pasting a quote doesn't give a notification?).
@kanundrum - I'll look into that one as well.
@CSG Mike - I do like a little bite. I've been accused by friends that have rode with me that I'm hard on the brakes. I have a habit of braking late and firm, rather than riding them all the way to my stop. I agree, I don't need much of an upgrade, if any, but I wouldn't mind something a little better than stock, just to have something else to mod.
@IntotheOcean - My fear is the same as yours. I just don't want to wreck my car. Auto-x isn't too bad, so I may end up doing it eventually. But I'm afraid if I tracked it I'd be the guy driving like an old woman while everyone else flies past me, and eventually I'll do something stupid and one of those fly-bys will slam into me.

Rule of thumb for the track, if your not prepared to throw your car away don't take it there.

Just do pads. No need for fluid unless you're putting a lot of heat in the brakes. Although, we're talking like $18ish for a bottle of Motul RBF600 vs $5 for Autozone brand. It's relatively cheap, but it doesn't provide you any tangible benefit...

I *love* my AP BBK for how firm it makes the pedal and how grabby everything is.

Actually I think I came up with an excuse to do the rotors too haha. The stock brakes rust so easy. I hate the first minute or so of driving if it's been sitting around in the rain. I don't suppose aftermarket ones have a lower tendency to rust? If there's no difference, just ignore me.

The composition of the iron may be superior, but surface rust is always going to be an issue. Rotors ship with zinc coatings -which inhibit rust during storage - that you need to remove prior to use. Surface rust might be ugly, but press the pedal and you'll scrape it all off. If the rotor hat is rusting simply paint it OR get a rotor that comes with an already painted hat - only the cheapest rotors come without painted hats.
