While waiting for the OFT e85 tune, installing some new friends for the ESC...

WedsSport SA-10R (18x8.5 et45) &
RS-R Sports-i Moto-spec (6k/7k)

The build quality of both I can barely believe, quite nice.

Hello All,

I am a recent installer of the system but still do not have it completely up and running. I have the whole kit mechanically installed but I am struggling a bit with the OFT tune. I'm hoping someone can help me with a bit of the detail.

I realize that I need to send the OFT folks the stock tune so they can be sure to send me the correct upgraded tune. I have read and saved the stock BRZ tune with the OFT device but am a bit challenged in the loading it to my computer and sending it part.

When I hook the OFT up to my PC (with their download software running) and read the "Download Data" screen, there is one entry on "Read data" listed as "original file" and then the field says "PRESENT" Is that my stock BRZ file that I need to send to the OFT folks? There are also 5 others that are listed as Modified, which I assume are new ones from OFT.

I appreciate any help, as I'm sure you guys have been through this. I'm dying to get this in service as you can imagine.

Thanks in advance!

Yep! The field named PRESENT is the one you're looking for. When you save it to your computer, it will rename itself to something more meaningful. Enjoy the product!

Thank you. On my system it does not create a name when I save it, it prompts for me to create one in a blank field, and there is no extension, which is why I was a bit confused. There is 1,280 kb field that is saved though, so it seems I'm good.

The help is greatly appreciated.

Enjoy.... Make sure to let us know what you think after you get the batteries good and conditioned. It can take a couple of days if the batteries have been sitting for a while.

It provides gobs of torque where it's needed most (3-5k RPM) and surprising grunt from 5-6.5k RPM. It's maintenance free and for all intents and purposes matches the Stage 1 Innovative SC kit on the street but for half the cost. I love it.

Rob keeps improving the kit. The current kit is better than the very first iteration i got. Everything is packaged so nicely in the engine bay now. Plus the new controller that everyone is getting is much beefier and the 1.5 dump pack upgrade provides extra power up top were the first iteration started to decline a bit.

There are always a couple bumps in the road but anyone that had a issue Rob dealt with very quickly.

I don't think i could do without the now 185-190tq at 3000 RPM....it seriously gets you moving quick.....You just have to watch your launches or you will be spinning all through first like below

You are so correct Fenton. I had several beta controllers. Robs service has been outstanding and communication has been great. For a "new" product, Rob has tremendous understanding of the system and is just spot-on with trouble shooting issues when they arise.

My beta kit was just wrapped in paper. My replacement production kit was well thought out and the quality of the components (even the little things like the battery hold-down blocks) is quite mature.

I highly recommend the Phantom ESC. It's the best bolt-on I've ever used and lives up to all of the "hype" (it's not actually hype if it performs).

Hi all,

I'm having trouble understanding what tune options are available with OFT right now - my understanding from vishnu was that the e85 with OFH tune was complete, but now that may just mean the 1x not 1.5x dump. Is that correct? Is running the 1.5 on 93 better than the 1x on e85? I will probably be ready to purchase at the end of July, should I be getting on the list now?

Shivs car was running NA for a while when he was developing the new 1.6 ots tunes.

To my knowledge phantom maps are next and that will include the 1.5 dump tune on 91 and e85.

The e85 tune in one owners car made 225whp with the 1.0 kit....shiv has made 216 with dual dump on his 91 tune.

I expect 1.0 with e85 be 225....1.5 with e85 235 maybe.

You can expect 205 on 91 with the 1.0 and 215 with the 1.5 dump upgrade.

The great thing is you don't have to choose! All the maps are free its just if you want to purchase the 1.5 conversion kit from Rob for another 10hp and 10tq to the wheels

And yes .... The list for July is already at 25....its unknown if some will back out but when I look at the top 10 for the July batch they are all very interested in the product.

I will get a dyno as soon as Shiv releases the 1.5 on 91. Do we have to send him our stock file again for a custom edit? That could prove annoying to him as more people buy the things...
