LMAO! Don't do it bro! Scion is the new performance brand for Toyota for the USA and Canada!

Hey if hyundai and kia and reinvent themselves so can Scion. The FR-S is the first step. In two years the Scion SR-S (Supra) will be the next step...

LMAO!

This, thank god. We can only hope that people that can't afford the car just leave the board now and buy Turbo Velosters. Pleeaaaase!

Actually its more comparable to a Miata touring which costs 25,830+ destination.

Let me guess, you 2 are the type of people who like food prices high because it "drives away the hoards of people".

Can't belive some people on this board are so dumb that they think high prices are good for the sake of exclusivity.

besides the fact that affordable is a relative term, don't forget about inflation...

in 2007, target price of $22,000
in 2012, US inflation adjusted price is $24,156

hmmm, what was the announced price again?

annual rate of inflation source: http://www.usinflationcalculator.com/

"Performance" brand? HA! Don't make me laugh. xB, xD, iQ, performance?

No, Scion is the, and this is according to Toyota reps I've spoken with, "cheap affordable brand to get people interested in and point them to Toyota." Kind of hard to point to a Toyota sports car if they don't have one.

24K is right about where I expected the FR-S. Still expecting a sub 26K BRZ premium.

It's actually almost $25k after you add in the delivery. the FR-S pricing is about $1000 higher than it should be. They will sell the cars, but the sales will drop off after a few months. We already got lots of deserters on this forum and pretty much everybody here are die hard FT86 enthusiast.
Trip, I understand people's frustration, and your right we don't know what comes standard, but this car and it's design certainly seems worth 25k in today's market. I just never bought in to the idea this car was going to be 22-23k, and maybe I'm the one who's "pricing barometer" needs re-calibrating.

I know many here may not agree, but it just seems reasonably priced to me.

Here's hoping it comes with the goodies people are expecting.

Says who? What is the source that the target price was $22K back in 2007?

At $25k OTD, your sales tax must be around .2% because that would be an awesome deal.
