Found the perfect spot for an extinguisher

Mine fits perfect. there are 2 screws underneath the cup holder mat that you can use to hold down a bracket.

you should make a plastic or rubber cover for it so it isn't so noticeable.

I need to have an extinguisher installed and within reach of the driver for the hill climb I'm doing tomorrow.
I didn't want to drill into anything and I almost forgot about it. I just happened to find those 2 screws under there after I saw it would fit.
This way it is easily removed and you can put the cup holder and mat back in and it's like it was never there

Can you provide any info on your extinguisher? It's a perfect fit.

If only I didn't value a cup holder over a fire extinguisher!

I would only use it when required for a track day. Other wise the cupholder would be installed

That's amazing. I hope that was intentional on the part of the designers.

RazBRZ, thanks again for the idea.

Ran to Wallyworld yesterday and picked up a Kidde Auto Fire Extinguisher. Same dimensions as yours. Ran $14.00

I made a mounting plate out of 3/16" aluminum. 5" x 4.25". Drilled and countersunk for the extinguisher mount and drilled for the armrest bolts. I ended up using some longer bolts that I had to mount the plate.

Very clever! I'll hafta remember that if I get to take my future BRZ to a hillclimb or HPDE.

If I wanted to take the time, or if someone decides to mfg a mount like this. It's easy enough to dimple the metal down enough to MAYBE use the stock hardware. I think I ended up using something approx. 1" long. I'll get a pic of the mounting plate and hardware when I get home.
