Suggestion For Those With Rear Adjustable Dampers
I thought I would have a play around with my dampers today. Much to my dismay I found that one of the rear adjusters had been bent off axis. No doubt it was the trolley jack on my way to the local track. Luckily for me the adjuster is still working. I purchased some 32mm diameter 1.6mm thick aluminium tubing to make a bit of protection. It is 40mm high. The tubing sits in there quite nicely.

The local streets around home are quite bumpy in places; there was no rattle at 50-60km/hr. The side panels have a little flap at the base that rests on top of the tubes. And yes, the rear mat no longer sits quite as nicely as it used to but I would now be comfortable putting light loads across the tubes.
I guess an alternative would be to tow the trolley jack behind the car. |

Why not use pvc pipe instead? Just a suggestion.
Are there any anchor points in the boot to attach ratchet/tie-down straps? If so, that would really be good for securing the trolley jack. Or maybe place the jack upside down in the boot so it doesn't roll around on its wheels. |
