loose rear-seat latches
Hello everyone.
I have taken in my frs several times for the repair of the noise coming from the rear. They determined that it was my rear seat latches coming a bit loose after driving. Their solution was have me slam my rear seats closed to fully engage the locks on either side. This solves the problem, but only temporarily. Once I go over bumps it has to be redone. Anyone else have this issue? Thoughts? |

I believe I have the same issue... I've got some felt pads that were purchased for the bottom of our furniture. I intend to stick some of those so to keep the seat latched tighter and see if that remedies this problem.

I THINK I have this problem. I'm not sure whether or not it is the "rear deck popping" sound or the seat latches. I would definitely try wrapping the latches with a foam substance if it is making sounds though.

Mine makes the noise too when the body flexes. The noise goes away when I spray WD40, but it lasts only for a month. I tried white lithium grease also and that lasts only a month too. My next step is to put some padding there. I'm planning to try it this Wednesday.

I wiped off the grease I applied before and put some blue painter's tape as padding. It still made the noise. ![]() When I fold the rear seat down, there is no noise. I don't know what else to try. |

if your seat is coming undone it may not be fully locked. push the circular buttons at both sides down completely

OP thanks for posting this. I fixed a pesky rattle just by re-closing the seat back.

I went in the back seat and started pushing down on both side's buttons to lock, and i noticed that the passenger one seems "bouncy". In other words, when you push it down and tap the seat a few times, the button will pop back up and unlock itself; whereas the driver's side wont.
Anyone else have a similar experience |
