please dont shoot me for asking but i thought i knew rim offset inside out... How can u be +38 and still have 3" lip.... I thought lip amount was totally dependent on how low u run the offset i.e lower offset = more poke (as some call it) = more lip???

and please i beg of u give me a detailed answer because i never want to embarrass myself so much EVER again publicly..

thanks in advance.....

That "lip" is a combination of wheel style, offset and overall width.

If the wheel is 10" wide, it's either got to have serious "lip" or serious curve on the spokes (unless the offset is +60).

Now go back to bed, it's still early there.

On one piece wheels, lip size are based on the preset style/face of the wheels. Not the offset.

On two piece and three piece wheels, lip size are based on offset.

each wheel lines are different. Watanabe uses different production mold for each offset, hence they are expensive.

Well this makes absolutely no sense to me. If the face of those work rims are +38 and there 9inch they are VERY sunk into the arch regardless of the lip..

Hopefully someone can explain it for me at length because this is the first I've heard of anything like this, especially 1 piece offset being different to 2 piece lip being an extension to that etc..

I'm not trying to be difficult... I just thought I had my head around all this stuff

18x9.0 uses the one mold. 2" lip. To achieve the offset, WORK shaved the inside hub.

18x10 uses another mold with 3" lip.
