removing electronic car while car running in push start car
So what happens when you remove the electronic key from the car when the car is running?
I don't think the manual even covered this? |

It beeps at you and tells you to come back. Now, trying to drive it without the key present... I have yet to test that scenario

Like said above, it will beep at you to warn you, but it will still run until you turn off the car. There may be a light on the dash too (but I cannot confirm this).
For example, maybe you decide to let your significant other drive since you are tired (but you still have key in your pocket) and she drops you off at the grocery story and you run into to get a few things, your significant other is still capable of driving around the parking lot, parking, etc until car is turned off. |

No, the "physical key" inside your monogram key fob cannot be used to start the car as there is no location for it. If your key battery dies, you must hold the key fob up to the push start button to start the car. No clue how it works when batteries don't work but that's the instructions and it's been done on the forum.

But, if the battery in your key fob has expired, you can still start the car by placing the key fob right up against the START button. I think they say emblem-side facing the START button, but just try it both ways until it starts. Ah, I see someone beat me to it, while I was typing. I believe it works simply by proximity, just like the chipped mechanical keys we've had for years. |

I've done it. I've parked the car when coming into my apartment complex so I can check my mail. I have the keys in my pocket, and just leave the car running. When I get out, I can hear my car beeping it's mournful wail, begging me to come back and promising to not drop torque again, but it's still running while I walk the 10 yards to the boxes, check my mail, etc. then get back in and go park the car and turn it off.

It's the same principle that our chipped mechanical keys have used for years.

# 19 reason why I am glad I did not get the Limited with push-start ignition. The car becomes its own decision-maker. Sorta like politics.
