Wheel well insulation
Any thoughts on wheel well spray insulation to cut down road (tire) noise a bit?

I think some lexus models have a layer of carpet on the underside of the wheel wheels to cut down on road noise, i wouldnt recommend spray on, its heavy and messy....
And by carpet i mean all weather type material, not shag carpet, lol

Spraying something in there could lead to problems in time. If you are thinking of using a tar like spray or rocker guard, that stuff can eventually crack. When it does, it will allow water to get through, then hold it there, causing rot. The best fix would be to remove the interior panels and apply dynamat or a similar product to the inside of the wheel well. It is more work this way, but the results will be much better.

I seem to get a bit more road noise since lowering. No likey.
It seems like it would be a simple install, remove wheels and should be able to unscrew the wheel wells right? Any chance the fatmat or insulator could end up absorbing water? How much has it reduced road noise? |

Guy on a Corvette forum put some duct insulation under the rear wheel wells, said it did reduce the road noise.
